Door Latch Cable Replacement
in 986 Series (Boxster, Boxster S)
Posted
The cable that runs between the inside door opener handle and the latch as broken on my 2002 986S. I discovered yesterday that this is called a Bowden Cable.
So far I have the inner liner off the door, and it looks like I need to remove the door latch from the door to get the other end of the cable loose. In searching the archives, it looks like the screws that hold the door latch to the door have a head that are called "triple square". I checked with my local NAPA store and they have no idea what one of these is. I searched on Harbor Freight and found nothing.
Can anyone point me to where I can find the correct insert to remove the screws so that I can remove the door latch?
Has anyone else had to replace the Bowden cable and can you offer any adivce or suggestions?
TIA
