My brother just got his 2004 Boxster 2.7. After trying mine, he decided to sell his Z4 and go ahead with a Boxster. We are about to make some mod that will require to unplug the battery but as 99% of second owner, the radio code is not in the glove box. The radio is working right now. Is there a way to display the code as the radio is working or not? If not how can I find that code?

I'll do so it means I'll have to remove the coolant drain plug and will have to unplug ALL rubber hoses including the radiators to let the coolant drains? There is no way to remove only the coolant drain plug and pressurise the coolant circuit with air so that all coolant escapes the system by the drain plug?

I have another question about that process. As a preventive process, I will replace my water pump & thermostat using a lower temperature thermostat at Spring time. I have the Airlift 550000 and a 5 gal. compressor. My question is, do I need to drain ALL coolant from the car or I can just pick up the coolant that will fall from the water pump & thermostat housing, replace those pars, do a vacuum and put back the coolant that falls in the plastic pail?

I had the same problem. Did order a custom rebuilt one plus a hand brake rebuilt from http://www.dallassteeringwheel.com/ Took a couple of weeks and sent back my old stuff as a core exchange. I'm very happy with the result.

Hi, Boxster 2003, 2.7 here.
Did replace the brake fluid using my Motive bleeder. No problem there, very easy. But now I'm looking to do the same with my clutch BUT I can't find the bleeding nipple? I'm looking by the rear driver side wheel. The only nipple I can see is a black one that looks to be plastic and part of the salve cylinder. Is it the good one to use? Please have a look and confirm.

Guys;
I had been battling with that roof rope since last year. That rope looks like a shoe rope. It goes from side to side of the roof just between inside liner and the roof membrane. It is attach on both sides to a kind of plastic eye that is screwed with a 15mm Tork screw. On both ends of the rope, there is a piece of sew fabric.
Questions:
1- With the roof in service mode, when att. to both eyes, does that rope should be louse? Mine is. (See att. PDF photo).
2- Both ends of the rope don't stay attach to the eyes when I operate the the roof from open-close-open. Why? Is there a solution?

Hi guys;
Winter is over so I did put back my 2003 Boxster 2.7 on the road. Prior to that I did check the rotors depth. Any body can confirm if I have to plan a change out in the near future: Here are my readings (electronic caliper):
Front: 23.4mm & 23.2mm
Rear: 19.7mm & 19.5mm

My Boxster 2003, 2.7 will be out of hibernation in 2.5 months (I hope!). I'm planning to replace all 4 rotors before putting it back on the road. What rotor should I use? I did some reseach and found out that some people are using Zimmermann drilled one other tried them but had problems (warp). So what would you do? Staying with the Porsche one? Help please.

I did buy a can of R134A with oil from Interdynamics. I'll wait for a hotter day and give my A/C a shot and rise the pressure a little and ckeck air supply temp. at the same time to see any improvement. I'll keep you in touch.

More details....
Ok I made a test this morning. Was 82F. in the car. Start it and put requested temperature setpoint to minimum. Fan ramp up at MAX and the system goes by itself in recyrc mode.
It looks like the air that is supplied in the car is much much colder on the driver side compare to central and passenger side! With 63F. outside, I get 50F. at driver side supply grills (left side of the steering wheel), I get 63F. center vents and finally 68 at passenger righ side grill. Do you understand something? My car is a 2003 Boxster and there is not driver/passenger seperate HVAC controls... Maybe I miss something?

To answer your questions, I took the refrigerant (low side) pressure reading at iddle (660/700 RPM). When I switch from A/C or not (Flake botton), I ear the engine RPM changing and the compressor running.

I need help on my diagnosis. I'm not using the A/C very often. Lets say maybe 5 days during the 6 months my Boxster is out of hibernation. The compressor and both condenser fans looks to run fine running fine. When I put compressor on and touch both refriderant pipes in the fresh air inlet section, I can feel the refrigerant circulating. Took the pressure and it was around 32 PSi with 65F. outside, fan at max speed and requested temp at minimum. I did mesure 59F. at discharge grills in the car with an electronic temperature reader with remote sensor. Another clue, when the compressor is running and I touch both refrigerant pipes, I don't feel any change or difference in temperature between both pipes.
Any idea what's happen?

I sent my (4) 18" Turbo Look II wheels to a wheel repair shop for a complete facelift. Here is my probably stupid question: I know the larger one are at the back and smaller one at the front BUT is there a right or left side on those wheels or they can be install on both sides? I'll have new tires to be mounted on them by friday.

Ok, I want to close that thread because it is fixed now.
Engine hesitations are gone. How? By changing my dual mass flywheel. The original one had too much play on it. When cruising at constant speed, flywheel is at equilibrium but when slightly putting the foot on the gas that too much play in the flywheel causes a very tiny transmission power loss that finally looks like an engine hesitation but it's not the case.
So with tranny removed, the clutch, flywheel, RMS, IMS upgrade and tranny oil change have been done. My car runs like a new one!
