Hey, guys. I'm looking at buying a 2005 997 from Luxury Motors in the Chicago area and was wondering if anyone here would be willing to swing by there to preview it for me?
I am already going to have the local Porsche Dealership perform a 100pt inspection and have the CarFax on the vehicle already...so the history and mechanical details will be known.
I just really need someone that would be able to let me know about the cosmetic details. Like scratches, dents, dings, etc.
Anyone that maybe willing to assist?
I am looking at replacing my 986 w/ something a bit of an upgrade...997.
Thanks to all. :)

I've been thinking about the same thing. I think that when it is all said and done, I'll be picking up the TT. Just make sure to get the PPI, and hopefully a certified car w/ warranty. :)

Any turbo engine should run idle for at least a minute prior to killing the engine. That's why they have turbo timers, etc. Then you can safely lock the car and walk away while it turns itself off after a set period of time. Maybe not the best solution if you're parking in the garage, tho. lol.
I know of no one with a turbo timer in a 996TT...it does not work with the alarm system...that is you can't lock the car and walk away with the engine running and let the timer shut it off. If you know of something that does this...post the link here.
Yeah, that's normal. You install a relay into your alarm that makes it activate 1 min 20 seconds, etc, after the button is pressed. The doors still lock, but alarm activates after the allotted time for the turbo timer to kill the engine. :)

i wouldnt use a turbo timer because you have to hack into factory wiring
Not true. You don't always have to hack into the wiring. Most reputable turbo timer companies will offer a wire adapter that will connect right up between the ignition and the wiring.

First, I am from the US, and want a US spec car. Second, I am buying a used car not new. Third, used cars in Europe are more expensive than in the US. Three quick reasons.
