Hi Guys,
I have a 09 997-1.1 TT with the IPOD attachment. 25% of the time I start my car the IPOD is recognized. The other 75% of the time i need to disconnect the adapter and reconnect?
Ia anyone experiencing similar issues? Any idea what the most current PCM version is for 09 cars?
T
mine shows 1.10 but my guess there is later version of DVDs that are in parts catalog. ask your dealer
-
i dont see any second battery on MY09. is it only in early models?
-
996c4s. dealer replaced clutch and RMS billed 5 hours. Car is back at dealer 2 years later as rms leaks again. you may want to think about it. OEM porsche parts have 2 year warranty. if you need to replace RMS i would take it to dealer only for warranty purposes
-
Car is still under warranty but I guess they wouldn't replace since I'd had my last oil change done by a local bosch shop. Want to get this replaced though as I'm planning on keeping vehicle a while
oil change not at Porsche dealer doesnt void warranty. check your warranty booklet. these parts of course are cheap and easy to install yourself (15 min max)

Hi there,
After three years in the US, it will soon be time for me to go back to France. Both my 996 and my SL55 will come back with me. I'm trying to figure out all the modifications that will need to be done to get them compliant. Has anyone ever gone through this before? I read several posts of cars brought from the US to the UK, but I'm wondering if someone has some experience with continental Europe and France in particular. So far, I believe the two following things need to be done:
- modify the sidemarkers to blink with the turning lights. There are several posts on this, but they all point to a link that no longer works. Does anyone has a DIY or a working link?
- modify the fog lights to have them working on both sides. Again, several posts, but links are dead or pictures are gone. Does anyone have something I may use?
- what else? I read on a post that the inspection also controls that the tire size is same as OEM. That was in the UK, is it true in other places?

no

- I know this is a P-car forum, but any advice on the SL would be greatly appreciated :)
I also plan to replace my gauges to get km/h instead of mph. Tool Pants posted a DYI in 2004, but the pictures are gone. Does anyone have another link or saved the pictures?
-----------------
dont have to

Finally, do you know an importer I may work with to pick up my cars and bring them back and maybe help with the prep?
Thanks in advance.
i can only recommend one in Fos sur Mer. where you are shipping? Le havre is the cheapest destination from memory

RFM, which side does the light panel release from.
I am levering the lens from the front and back and it doesn't want to let go, it springs back in to its home position.
Any tips on the best way to remove the light lens?
doesnt matter - springs on the sides. pull out light lense (it might be in you manual as you need to be able to change thouse light bulbs). there are two screws there. i have two more under storage for glasses (dont know if you have that)

anybody with PCM3 and media interface. Does it charge IPOD? thanks
-
Which rear door - left or right?
There is a violet/white wire on each door lock button (to A1). This wire goes to B1 on the left rear door controller box or B13 on the right rear door control box.
thank you. that is helpful.
-
sorry, didnt realize the effort involved. lock please if that is ok?These schematics are only available in PIWIS so all I can do is take a screen shot of small portions of them. -
-
The locks are on one schematic and the speaker on another - which do you need?
hm... where is the white wire there? or can i have both?
-
The cost for cutting the blade and cloning so that you can start the car is less than $50. All you have to bring is your one good key, they supply the rest (Price on Long Island, New York).
Regards, Maurice.
how would it start without immobilizer?
P.s is it possible to program 3 or 4 working keys for Cayenne? i remember carrera had 4 positions
-
Exact model and model year please...
cayenne T 2009 if diagram not out yet 2008 will do. looks like the same part number
-
Great,
Thank you!
According to the Porsche manual the "ground" connection appears to be the airbox bolt. Is that correct?
any metal part of the body is your ground (door latch, bolt...)
-
Thanks,
I guess I expected a bit too much from the maintainer. By the way the engine in my car is dead. All I need to do is get the trunk open. I'm going to be towing it next week for the new engine install..
I also tried to fish out the cable release under the taillight for the engine compartment so I could charge the battery through the terminal in the back. Couldn't find the cable for that either.
I tried to find the emergency cable release under the front wheel well for the trunk but could not...
Pretty rediculous that you need a charged battery to get to the dead battery in a Porsche... :o
I think this car is going to drive me to drinking more heavily... :P
There should be a positive terminal in fuse box in driver footwell (lookup in your manual at least there is one in my 03).
-
what is the wire assignment of the wiring loom for a rear door (speakers 2, door look, unlock)? many thanks
-
That is a bit too late for him as he cannot open the trunk.. no? Well, if you open it with another battery then sure or if you have manual gearshift just push it downhill and off you go... to the nearest AutozoneI doubt that a battery maintainer would be able to charge a dead battery. What you can do, if you don't want to but a battery charger, is take the battery to a local auto parts store (like Autozone or Kragen) and they will check and charge your battery for free. Then you can use your battery maintainer to keep it charged.Oscar
but just for reference I put battery charger (7A) to charge my half-dead battery (11V - so it was still able to start the engine but just barely) and it took about 24 hours to get it to a charged state. So tricle charge overnight is nothing...

I think it would almost be cheaper to sell the 2004 CS and buy a 2008 CTT.
hehe you would think so, and in America it probably is, but in Norway a new Cayenne S cost 200.708,- $ and a Turbo costs 290.000,- $.
A used Cayenne S with all options is worth around 89.000,- $. So that's quite a difference ;-)
just buy US version and send it Norway (will be about $3k shipping cost + $1k homologation cost)

MY 2009 Cayenne have only one oil drain plug.
phew :D RFM thanks. if could add you as friend twice i would do that or give you a star of the forum award (With Loren too :)
-
Had to take battery off to charge (didnt realize it also drunk almost 1L of water in 18 months).
1. Put battery back and could not find setting for date neither on PCM nor on board computer. went through the manual where it says how to change time and format for the date but nothing about changing date itself. Silly question, what am i missing? searched this forum but found nothing about this. Is this a PIWIS job?
2. Is the issue of changing battery with less than 1/3 of fuel been fixed for C4 from 2003 onwards?
-
Changed oil on 2009 Cayenne T but dint look for the second plug. Later found this post and started wondering, looked at PET pictures but could not find that second plug neither on oil-conducting housing (948 107 071 54) no on oil pan (there is only one on picutre 900 219 020 31). Am i missing something or these pictures not correct (Pet update 235 - latest). DOnt want to go under and take all panels off just to satisfy my curiosity. Anybody knows? BTW thanks to this forum for a tip about ziplock bags and oil filter changes.

testing fuel pumps
two fuses in the engine compartment 13 and 14. take one out and start the car if car works fine the the other fuel pump is out. take the other fuse out - car should not run...
-
Just looked in PET - my car has garage-door opener. When i first tried to program it no lights came out. Which fuse is it on?
NAV PCM 3: what is part 997 642 271 50. looks too cheap to be a map set.
IPOD part 955 612 642 30 - sounds too good to be true again - so if i buy this part and connector my IPOD will work with PCM 3? :o
--------- found out myself -----
garage door opener is fuse 42 right side box. (marked as "roof module")

Some TSB's concerning DME programming, environment related interventions and a small quantity of details are different. The TSB as mentioned is the same for ROW Europe, if your car is still eligible, your dealer can check that.
Thank you. The car is only 5k but there is an oily spot on front left cover panel. This is US version which keeps coming up with a service reminder (3k miles). Not sure what it is about but will change oil just in case and get dealer to clear reminder if they do this TSB
PCM Navigation Updates - Europe
in 997-1 Series (Carrera, Carrera 4, Carrera 2S, Carrera 4S)
Posted
there also a bunch of people with PCM 2 that had to wait 5 years 2003 - 2008 for European map updates which now cost more than brand new full featured better looking navigation device. you should run a poll for them too. gotta say as good as these cars are in driving as bad they are in all stuff electronic
