Thanks, especially Tool Pants. I'll make a list of things to do and tackle them accordingly. Seems like my toy is going into the garage early this year. :(
cracked pressure plate is my guess

The part numbers for the control units appear to be the same.
Their are four part numbers depending on options off-road, XM, CD Changer, etc. etc.)
tks. good news. i have none of these extra options (no xm, no off road, no phone )
any thoughts on xenon vs. noraml lights?
-
I realize differences are minor but...
Is PCM 3 identical for USA and RoW? What are the parts numbers for both if anybody knows?
Gen 2 Cayennes - can i put regular headlights instead of Xenon or there is much rewiring to be done?
thanks in advance
-
Definitely not possible, the PCM 3 is totally different as system ( hard disc system ).
apparently not true (look at 6speedonline) and Nav-tv
-
We are looking to by a 2009 GTS, the one we want has NAV but no bluetooth. Porsche says update will be in the spring to add. (can order with for 695) Does anyone know if it can be had now?
Thank you
Richard

-
thanks for reply . i am trying to see how difficult is it to swap my US dashboard with "miles and fahrenheit" to metric version. but i checked with gembala and they will do it for euro500 by post so problem solved
-
and new MSRPs are....? or when will they be available
-
Anybody knows part number for Cayenne 2008 T dashboard (ROW)? How complicated is it to swap from the one I currently have? Thanks in advance
-
i lost three of them by now. crapy quality. dealers gave me replacements from broken lamps. never managed to buy just that part. hope you have better luck
-
can anyone help me with the differences between US and Europe (France/Germany) versions of Cayenne Turbo. If there are any? thanks in advance.

welcome to the dark side... have fun...
p.s. kind of late to ask maintainence cost questions :)

this "abuse" argument is a load of crap. bend fingers will only come from cracked pressure plate (look at pic). I had exactly the same. Porsche eventually admitted defective part but they claimed that I "have changed clutch myself" before the problem happened!?!?! and so no warranty in my case... as far as abusive driving i am in your camp (i get more than 20k for a set of tires...)
-
clutch was shot and had the RMS replaced. thanks for all the info and pricing comparisons. car is running excellent
but what was the problem with the clutch?
-
let me guess - cracked pressure plate? hope not but tell us the results. if you are changing clutch may as well do RMS , not much extra
-
cracked welding on the tail brackets. I had to replace left and right 5k apart (cost about $40 each, while dealer said he will only replace the entire system at $600+). it is the last portion of the exhaust pipe (the one under your C4S chrome tail pipe ends). you will not see it even when it breaks. if this sounds like your problem and you cannot find, write back

The part number is the standard 997 shift. 996 owners are using it because they say the throws are a bit shorter than the standard 996 shift.
so it will fit 996 without any modifications!? tks tks

in my case with clear manufacturing defect (cracked pressure plate) and leaking RMS Porsche, so as not to do anything, came up with a theory that I myself incorrectly installed all those parts!!! (some twisted logic) the car had 20k on the clock then. hope you have better experience.
NAVTEQ GPS retrofit set - anyone got a quote yet?
in 9PA, 9PA1 (Cayenne, Cayenne S, Cayenne Turbo, Cayenne Turbo S)
