well, the valve misfunction resulted in some coolant being pumped overboard... I also have to believe that it changes the pressure. Maybe that also contributes to the change of coolant temp. Sofar the temps are down to where they used to be before..
What should the temp be in a typical situation? Mine also sits to the right of 180.

Hi. I'm new to the forum and I have just purchased an 01 C4. I've never had more fun in my life. I quickly realized that driving this car without a radar detector is like having unprotected sex -- feels good, but sooner or later your going to catch something you don't want.
So, I bought a V1 and I need to hardwire it. I've poked around on the forum to see the DIY options. I'm really nervous to get into the fusebox - I fear I will mess something up. A quick call to my local dealer got me a $300 quote, which I think is outrageous.
Two questions:
What should I expect to pay for this install?
Can I trust a "stereo install" place with this job?
Any thoughts, input would be greatly appreciated.
