  1. Hi All,

All a sudden my 997.2 TT's PCM won't turn on.  I checked the fuse the 15 AMP on end of the last row on the right (circled) and it's fine.  I also tried to replace it with the spare fuse and no luck.  Is this the right fuse to check?  What else I can try before taking it back to the dealer?

    Thanks!

  2. I think you're going to find it's worse than that, the high/low beams don't work.

    Put it back.

    Worse

My low beam (xenon) is working fine, I haven't checked the high beam and fog lights yet. Speaking of which, I would check them out now dry.gif

    Update:

I tested all the lights and they are all working fine, low/high beam fog lights etc. Only the license plate lights are not working after DRL relay is pulled. (They were working before I pulled the relay :))

  3. I pulled the DRL relay as other members suggested and it does disabled all the DRL, however, the license plate lights do not turn on even I turned on the headlights. I've searched the forum and google and it doesn't seems to be able to find the solution on this one.

Anyone has any suggestion? Is it possible to connect the license plate lights to the rear lights (not the break lights, the one that will be turned on all the time and will not grow brighter when you step on the break)

    Many thanks! :D

  4. Hi all,

I tried to do a search about hacking a Canadian Porsche 996 and modify the DRL on the forum but I cannot find any. Please direct me to the posts if it was already discussed. All I can found was DRL hack a US car to enable DRL.

Anyways, long story short, MY01 996 is a Canadian car and have the DRL which turn on low beam, side markers, rear lights. I want to know how easy is it to modify the DRL on a Canadian car to either use the fog light as DRL or if I decide to add a pair of LED light bars and wire them to the side markers, in this case disable the low beam as the DRL so I can have the LED lights for DRL.

If someone here have done it before, please let me know how you and what needs to be done.

    Thanks in advance.

    Dave

  5. I will try cleaning up the interlock switch first - Perhaps some gunk has just made the switch operation a bit spotty. Thanks for the advice.

Have you tried cleaning up yet and did it help? I have simular starting problem. I replaced the battery a couple months ago, and the problem did not go away.

  6. Hi guys,

My current ride (MY01 C2 narrow body) is running on a set of 19" OZ rims, and the rear tire is 295/30 and the front is 265/35. The question is, I am looking for a set of 18" since 19" is not recommanded and the current set has a few curbed and the right lip is banded a little. I'm looking at this Porsche design 2 pieces rims, what is the widest tire I can mount on this. The link is the picture of it. 18" X 10". The fact that I want to keep the 295 if possible.

    Thanks.

P.S. I don't know what the offset of my current set as I don't see any spacer used for the rear rims which kindda weird. Anyone might have an idea?

  7. Hi I bought MY01 996 last year and I'm not provided with the radio code.

    CR-220

    Type 4362

    Seri 15030796

    Thanks in advance.

    Try 6609

    or

    6607

Thanks Loren, unfortunately neither of these code works. I got a "wait" after 3 wrong attempts. I will try 2 digits diff when my sterio is not in "wait" mode.

    :thankyou:

  8. My 01 996 recently having issue starting up. When I turn the ignition key (with cluch down of course :) ), nothing happens, not even cranking. However, I could hear very little "tick tick" sound once every about 5 seconds. It doesn't happen all the time, about 10% of the time it doesn't want to start cold or warm.

My question is, is this Starter failing? Or the cluch switch bad adjustment or need a throttle clean? I do notice it's getting rough idle rpms too.

    Thanks in advance

  9. Although it's an old topic, but you are not allone. MY01 C2 had the head lights stolen before my ownership. When I bought the car, I got the history of claims and I found that the insurance had paid CAD5500 in total to replace 2 headlights, repaired the damaged paint and replaced a new window shield.

A pair of HID headlights worth about CAD2000 on craigslist and costed insurance CAD1600 each to replace.

  10. I got a 01' C2 and when I was trying to open up the A-Pillar trim and the air vent trim to investigate the rattle noise, I'm not sure how but one of the clips that hold the A-Pillar trim dropped into the hole where the clips clip on. I could hear the clip dropped into car's body.

I'm wonder if there is a way to get the clip out as I do not want to add another rattling source to my car :(

    Thanks in advance.

  11. Hi all,

Does any one has the same problem? A few months ago, I noticed there is a rattle noise from the passanger side, sounds like coming from the vent trim or the load speaker on dash, now the rattle extended to the driver side too.

I can hear the rattle noise (sometimes) when idle and while driving and the road is not that rough or bumpy. At the beginning, I thought it might be the vent and a pillar trims were loose or rubbing each other, so I tried to stuck my fingers between the vent trim and the a pillar trim and the rattle did not go away. I tried to hold all different pieces on the dash and it just doesn't go away.

Any suggestion where I should check? It becomes annoying.

    Thanks guys.

  12. Hi Seaniwersen

Have you tried the other key if it works? I bought a 01 996 last year and the remote range was terriblily bad, I had to point the key to the A Pillar on the driver side's window to get the remote to work. Chaning battery on the key did not gain any range. If it's simular to my situation, there you might want to take a look at this topic:

    Good luck.
