  1. Thanks scouser that is the most multi media reply I have ever received ! :D

Unfortunately the piece I am missing is on the end of the hooks at either end of the roof i.e. near the doors. Think I will just pop into the local OPC at the weekend and have a look at s showroom model to see what I am missing.

Thanks everyone for trying to help - I will advise the result.. ;)

  2. Sorry Loren I haven't been clear with this problem. It is not the hardtop that I have a problem with it is the folding soft top.

The hardtop sits in its padded bag all year round as I only use the car when the weather is dry. It is my wife that insists I put the cab roof up when we go out in it.

Do you have a replaceable end cap on the cab hooks on your car?

    Thanks

  3. Hi,

I looked at this and decided it was best left to the experts, the centre console has a lot of tricky edges as well as the need to get a deep sheen on the larger bits. See Loren's comments in the DIY section.

It is worth the money to get it done properly - in the UK it will cost you GBP 250 so it can't be much more that USD400 over there. See Bumperplugs.com

  4. Have tightening all the torx screws i can find and it still rattles on the drivers side. I can lift both sides a few millimetres each side when it is locked shut.

At the end of the 'hook' that catches with the screen there is evidence of some rubber that looks like it may have been an end cap or similar that press fits onto the hard plastic hook. Have looked on PET and seem there is a part no 996 561 706 01 described as a 'cap'. Have I lost this part from my roof fitting ?

Can anyone look at their cab fixing and tell me if I am missing something ?

    Thanks

  5. I have seen a post somewhere (here or on Rennlist) that talks about a PSE with the baffles welded open so I am sure you can do it. Either that or buy a stock muffler and seel the PSE on e-bay.

I bought a set of stock mufflers at a car boot sale (do they have those in the States) for GBP 50 - they were taken off an 02 C2. My PSE cost me GBP 40 to get fitted at a local independent - it is also a DIY if you can the car in the air.
