  1. Where is the SD slot on this unit located?

    UPDATE:

Here's what I've done so far (in addition to hooking up the speaker wires):

from the diagrams I've linked below...

Kenwood wire A goes to Becker wire Socket A #7

Kenwood wire B goes to Becker wire Socket A #4

Kenwood wire C goes to Becker wire Socket A #8

When I plug it in, I get no display at all. I do have power because the upside down triangle light is blinking and hitting eject causes the screen to flip up. When I push the system reset button or flip the screen up, I can notice the back light change somewhat, but still no display.

What could cause there to be no display at all? Have I missed a step?

Thanks in advance for any help... josh

Older post before I wired everything up...

looking at the Kenwood wiring diagram, I understand the speaker wiring part, but I'm a little confused on the power wiring. I've scanned the Kenwood wiring diagram - it's at http://www.jother.com/kenwood/kenwood.jpg

The wires I'm not sure about are A, B and C. I read in another post where they mention that the undocumented Bose wire should go to the blue Kenwood wire (I'm assuming that's the "Motor antenna control wire" on the Kenwood diagram, correct?)

I've also posted the Becker wiring diagram from the owners manual. It's available at http://www.jother.com/kenwood/becker.jpg

If anyone can help with Kenwood wires A,B and C, that would be much appreciated.

    thanks... josh

  2. I have exactly the same issue with a 2002 996. Where did you find it covered and did it give the part numbers?

    Chas

***Sorry, after posting this I found that the topic has been covered. I was searching in the wrong forum.***

I have a 1999 996 Cab. I am preparing to install a new stereo system and have a question regarding moving the climate controls. Currently my car has the following from top to bottom on the center dash:

    Air Vents

    Climate Controls

    Stereo

    Cassette Tape Storage Unit

    Storage Compartment

The stereo system I want to install has a flip out monitor. When flipped out, it would block access to the climate controls. Here is what I would like to do:

    Air Vents

CD Storage Unit (new unit. anyone have part number/source)

    Stereo

Climate Controls (do I need a new faceplate etc./part number/source)

    Storage Compartment

Hope this makes since. Any help would be appreciated. Also, any assistance with how to do this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    Will
