  1. That is part of Passport LASER SRX. It is a LASER Shifter that temporarily recieves the LASER signal and for a period of 5 seconds sends back a signal different than the LASER Speed Gun is expecting and confuses the gun to the point is displays erroneous info that the trooper has to ignore. After 5 seconds, (hopefully you have slowed down) the shifter stops, allowing the troopers LASER gun to operate normally. Yes, it works. It has saved my butt at least three times. If you had looked, you would have seen one or two more sensors on the front grill somewhere.

Normally, when you hear or see a LASER threat, it is too late. You have been nabbed. With this, you have about 5 seconds. This interfaces with the Passport 8500 and forms a complete package. This is one way in which the Passport system is superior to the V1. V1 gives you LASER warning but no defense.

  2. Item 9 I believe?

You will need to tell me what color/finish for a correct part number.

Weird. The number 9 part must consist of two pieces because I have the part that slides over #9 but is there a cupholder underneath? The dealer said the previous owner must have taken it out to wash it or something and didnt replace it. So I still don't know what the "cupholder " looks like. I think it is a two piece unit that is not completely shown in this diagram? The console #9 cover is black.

  3. $2500! Wow. That is a lot of money! And most come with craftily worded exclusions.

My experience with after market waranties is mixed. I bought a used Jeep once with a Jeep Used warranty and two weeks later had a transmission failure that was fully covered. Other times it has been a complete waste.

But, $2500 on a $35,000 car. I don't think so. Check around and search the Internet for extended warranties before you spend that kind of dough.
