  1. Hi,

I have just bought a used 2003 cayenne turbo (40K miles). I did notice something strange:

At normal height, the car brakes and drives great.

At low height, there is a strange feeling when I break (normal or heavy). As soon as I let the brakes go, there is a short "shake". It is best described as the feeling that the front suspension "moves" back half an inch. I know this doesn't sound logical, but I don't know how to describe it otherwise.

I will take the car to the dealer, but I was just wondering whether this is a known problem for somebody.

    Thanks, frank.

    Frank,

My 2004 Cayenne S with air suspension does not behave in this manner. The brakes feal rock solid in low mode or in normal. It sounds to me like you should speak to your dealer.

  2. I installed a BEL RX-65 in my 2004 Cayenne S with the "Smartplug" system for hardwiring. It was fairly simple. I used the suction cup windshiled mount just under the rear view mirror, and and I mounted the Smartplug controller on the dash, right by the a-pillar. I ran the wire down underneath the trim for the a-pillar and tapped into a switched fuse, so the unit turns off when the ignition is off. I attached a pic of the Smartplug unit, and of the installation of the controller on my dash.

    Dennis
