  1. Cleaned out the throttle body when I cleaned the MAF, it was surprisingly clean. I'll visually follow vacuum lines and check for cracks and whatnot. I'll also clean the ICV as a precaution.
  2. The sensors are sensing rich threshold. The car is a 1999 911 C2. Oil cap is on tight, as is the gas cap. I used a whole can of MAF cleaner on the MAF. I'll put some injector cleaner through today. I've never checked for vacuum leaks before, is it something that's fairly straightforward or should I take it to a shop?
  3. First thing's first. How would I check the intake and exhaust systems for leaks? Is brake clean around my intake gasket safe? I don't see any obvious carbon trails out of exhaust.
  4. P1124/P1126 Possible fault areas; intake air system leaking, fuel pressure too low, volume supply of fuel pump too low, fuel injectors fouled. I've already replaced o2 sensors without any results. Where should I look to next? My post-cat o2 sensors were white, looked very lean. Pre-cat were not. Any suggestions what to troubleshoot first? Thanks!
  5. After looking around a bit, our sensors look a bit different than the generic Bosch sensors. See how ours has a single hole at the tip of the sensor versus the generic sensor's "fan blade" openings? Will they still work as if they were the same?
  6. My turn signal cancel stopped working the other day. After completing a >90* turn it still does not turn off. Is this a simple fix or is the entire assembly likely broken?
  7. You've got to push those sensors pretty hard into the sockets for them to completely seat. I'm sure that's your problem.
  8. I'm in the market for a pair of post-cat O2 sensors. Anybody know where to pick some up on the cheap? Thanks!
  9. Loren, I come from the "muscle car" world originally where AIR/EGR was removed quite regularly to unleash horsepower. Do you think these cars will yield a noticeable difference with emissions disabled?
  10. Cleaned O2 sensors and MAF liberally with "MAF Cleaner". Code came back. MAF looked pretty much new, O2 sensors looked kind of white. Definitely running more lean than rich. What should my next course of action be?
  11. It's so loud, though. I've never had a vehicle's AIR make so much racket.
  12. After the car's been sitting for some time, it "howls" for a few minutes at startup. Seems like it's coming from the device to the rear driver's side of the engine bay. Is that the AIR/EGR system? Is this noise a problem?
  13. Doug, that looks great. What exactly did you do to them? A simple wetsand? I would really love it if you could do a quick write-up of how to do that.
  14. I only cleaned one, and the code came back today. I've got to run back and have it scanned to see if it's just one or both.
  15. Yes, 1124/6. Thanks Loren. I pulled the airbox out, cleaned the MAF and the O2's. There also seemed to be a small leak at the filter on the back right of the airbox. It's all back together now and the car feels like it's gained some pep. Maybe it's just in my head, though. Thanks!
  16. 69k miles. I just pulled one of my o2 sensors and it looks like it's been running pretty lean. The tip's pretty white/orange looking. I'll clean the MAF and see what happens, thanks.
  17. It's a '99 C2, sorry. VW specs say "long term fuel trim adjustment - bank 1/2 too lean"
  18. I've got a CEL for my o2 sensors. The OBDII tools at AutoZone picked up a P1144 and P1146 which shows up as o2 ground fault, the porsche tool at the dealership pulled 2 O2 sensor codes, I think 037 or 039, I wish I would have written it down. Anyway, if I delete the codes/reboot the ECM it takes about 100 miles to come back. It seems like it always pops up when I'm getting on it at high speeds. Any ideas how I should troubleshoot this? Thanks!
  19. May or may not be a coincidence, but my o2 sensors both threw codes about 10 miles after introducing SeaFoam to my gas tank.
  20. Drats. Do you know who owns that boxster DIY window regulator page? It explicitly says "now would be a good time to test the motor to make sure everything works" while the airbag is disconnected. That should be edited out.
