seems kind of shady that they wouldn't back-date those recommendations for older 987s...
I agree, it just doesn't add up. Regardless I'll change my 07 987's oil every 7500 miles or so - I enjoy doing that kind of thing anyway...

Regarding the change in 2008 to 12,000 maintenance intervals; Since dealerships make the most profit from their service department, perhaps they lobbied Porsche to get the service requirements increased.

Thanks Nick. I think I'll setup a relationship with Danbury to service my new 987. The are 1.5 hours from me, but the local dealer has a horrible reputation. Danbury seemed straight up and they are a Premier dealer... whatever that means. I just need a service dept. will do what they say they'll do - hopefully Danbury is it.
Good luck with your new car Nick. It looks great!!

Nick, it looks like you bought your LE from Danbury Porsche. I ultimately didn't buy from them, but they were one of the dealers on my short list and I thought they were one of the best dealers I worked with. How was your experience with them?
I'm also thinking of using them for the maintenance of my 987 and wonder if anyone has any thoughts on Danbury?

I have the exact same problem with my 2007 2.7 boxster. Only have 1,100 miles on it, but it's made that tapping noise since new. Once the car gets to operating temperature, the tapping stops. I was told it was normal, but now I'm starting to wonder.....
