  1. No... thats for a heater in the back of the car.... It is likely a small fitting that will bolt to the side of the block or into a frost plug and will have a 110V ac power cord. There shouldn't be any coolant hose changes (thats a potential failaure area you don't want in the deep cold) TC
  2. I assumed it would just be a frost plug too... isn't that what is on the VW VR6? weird....
  3. Need the part numbers to install a block heater on a 2005 V6 Cayenne. Is a US model (altho it lives in Calgary, Alberta, Canada now).
  4. as a side question to this, what is the offset of the factory 18" wheel? For winter/off-pavement tyres I want to get 18" wheels instead of the 19" I have on mine so that I can go to a slightly higher profile tyre. But as I look around what's available, the tuner wheels don't impress me plus I doubt they are appro off the pavement. So i'm considering either the factory 18" or taking the plunge and getting Compomotive PD1880's. The issue with the Compomotives is what offset and brake caliper clearance. Trevor
  5. Wow... thats the last thing I would have thought of !! Thanks for the info !
  6. It's been -25 here for the past couple of days. About 1/2 the time when I start my Cayenne (2005) I have a message saying there is a fault in the 4x4 system and it requires service. The other half of the time there is no message. Also, once the vehicle has been running for a bit, turned off and then on again (as when you stop at the store and come back 5 minutes later) the message and indicator are off. No error message. If I put the vehicle in neutral, step on the brake and try to disengage, I get no messages, nor does it come out of 4x4 mode (it is a standard transmission). When I do get the message, the light indicating that I am in 4x4 mode is on. As it seems to be intermittent, I'm guessing that it is a sensor or something that is reacting to the cold. Before I drag it off to the dealer to get ripped off, is there anything I can check or change ? Trevor
  7. Hello all.... The Transsyberia Cayenne has a different centre console and the parking brake has be relocated to it (where it should be anyway). Does anyone know if those parts are available to retro-fitting ? Trevor
