You'll have to change out the factory amplifier too if you have the bose system. if you dont, you're good.
as for the new deck, you have more thane nough room for a double din Nav unit. ive done probably 15 or more since the beggining of 2007... email me for some picutres.

Hey JAudio-
Do you have any recommendations for a 2001 Boxster? I would like something with a double din screen and nav.

Well time has come for me to replace my F & R rotors and pads. Sensor came on today.
Not looking to spend a ton of cash because I'm in the process of moving. Any one bought off ebay before and had good results on the product?
I see some DRT Performance rotors on there for just a little over 350, the seller is listed as brakpro.

I found f & R pads and sensors for another 125.00. Which is much cheaper them OEM rotors and pads from porsche.
Just wanted to see if any one had brought from them, or if any one has suggestions on a good place to purchase rotors and pads.
thanks
I bought mintex pads rotors and sensors off of ebay. Had them installed by Porsche specialist. Front brakes squeak, one of the rears had a scraping sound for a long time. Installer said it was because not OEM, and rear rotors not smooth. From now on I will probably go with sunset.

It just been recent that I noticed my steering wheel has been shaking between 60-75mph. (I've been thinking alignment, bad tires, etc....)
I was dusting the wheels today and noticed this
I just got my wheels balanced like a week ago, it's obvious that a bent front wheel can't be fixed with offsetting wheel weights.
Continental SportContact2 Tires
Front Tire Size: 225/40/ZR18
Rear Tire Size: 285/35/ZR18
What are the thickest and widest tires I could put on my narrow 996 c2? (18x8F, 18x10R)
What are my repair options? Will repairing the wheel be even close to OEM?
How about purchasing a new front wheel? If so, any suggestions on the best place to ship/exchange/etc?!?!
Sorry for all the questions, but I am just pissed off and needing to vent at the moment!!!! <_< Any feedback will be greatly appreciated!
I had a bent wheel repaired by a company called alloy wheel repair specialists. Price was $175. Wheel was still slightly bent after repair, and wouldn't hold air very well. The ride was still bad until I replaced wheel with a new one. I should have just applied the $175 to the new wheel.
My experience may be unique, but thought I would let you know.

Try 5045Sorry! I accidently posted on another topic already.HELP!!
I bought a used car, and am trying to add the optional rear speakers. Instructions tell me I have to disconnect Battery before running wiring so I don't set off airbags. After looking around, I see I need a radio code. I have no manual, and have looked under hood. Nothing is written on my sticker.
vin # is wpoca 29867 u620764

:welcome:
Last time I bought an owners manual from Sunset Imports (Porsche Parts at Dealer Cost) - it was $18.
The Lost Radio Code thread is here -- please do not start a new thread for your radio code.
Thank you!
I will definitely check out ebay and sunset for a manual.
I re-posted under the correct thread and have found my serial # for the radio.

Any ideas?

My 2001 Boxster has 173,000 miles and runs perfect. Very minimal issues for the miles. I have replaced the clutch this last year, and had some oil leaks fixed. Top needs to be replaced due to window separating from canvas. I obviously drive a lot for work. I do keep the oil changed and try not to abuse it by driving too crazy. Had repainted and carpet replaced recently, looks very nice considering age/miles. I plan on seeing how long I can keep it going great.
