  1. The froth in the oil fill tube/cap might just be condensation which is normal. You'll also have a vacuum created at the oil cap if removed when the engine is running. Check the coolant level when the engine has cooled. I've no idea about the residue.

Took about a quart of coolant. Still frothy in the oil fill tube. That cant be good. But it has been in Washington, maybe it is all condensation. There is no froth on the dipstick.

  2. So I just drove my 2000 C4 from Seattle to Reno.

(it has 51000 miles on it)

When I got to Reno I see oily stuff (like a baked on oil) on the front wheels, some on the rear wheels and all over the exhaust pipes. Under the engine is dry, under the radiators is dry. All dry, no puddle, no leaks.

Check oil level and its a quart low. (Not too big of news, the RMS drips once and a while.)

As I go to add my quart I pull the filler cap and there is the scary white froth from water mixing with oil there. I can see water droplets too. But the water looks clear not green. And the froth doesnt extend down the filler tube more than 2 inches. O ring looks god on the cap, perhaps carwash water is getting past the filler cap?

Chk the coolant level and its vitually empty in the bottle. Havent put more in yet, dont know how low it is.

    Summary:

Changed my oil in Seattle, maybe half a quart too high.

    Drove to Reno

Weird residue on wheels and exhaust

    Oil quart low

    Coolant low

    Froth under filler cap

Mild Negative Pressure under Oil cap

Got to keep moving on my trip tomorrow morning.

    Help Please.

  3. I just installed a LC7 from Audio Control, it gives you the Aux in works perfect.

I got this to work using a small unit that creates an Aux in for the PCM 1 replacing the CD changer. Mess me if you are interested. I just installed it myself :-)

Saturday I installed the connector/wiring I purchased from Becker to my CDR-220. Easy enough to do and now I am able to hard wire my Nomad to my Carrera stereo.

One minor point, if you don't want to have to input the radio code (I don't have mine) do not disconnect the connectors of your CDR while installing the AUX connector/wiring. There's enough wiring slack there to achieve your task without disconnecting power.

Unfortunately neither Becker nor Seimens provides such a piece for the PCM head unit. I have found a site (http://www.mictronics/?page=becker) that has a DIY connector piece that involves ATmega8 circuit boards, and the like. I, however, am quite ignorant on the subject. If anyone knows anything about circuit boards, could you take a look at this and see how difficult it might be, and the steps involved?

The entire problem with connecting a PCM stereo is the Sony Unilink architechture. It is very uncooperative by design.

  4. 2000 C4 with 6 Speakers and a OEM Nav. Amp is unknown.

Stripping out all the speakers, (and oem amp) replacing them with all memphis and a M3 Sub, adding a Memphis Belle 5 channel and a Processor like a Clean Sweep or one from Audio Control but keeping the stock Nav.

Think the sound quality will be ok? I dont need competition, just better than what I have. Mostly Im worried about the voltages and quality coming from the Nav.
