Great writeup. Here is a way to make it even easier and it may help prevent the engine whine some people get. (I didn't get it.)
Go to radioshack and get a $7 part. It has two wires (hot and ground) on one end and a female connector that looks like a cigarette lighter plug-in to insert the belkin plug into. That way you don't need to solder anything. It is plug and play. All you need to do is connect the red wire on the radioshack unit to the green/black wire on the cellphone adapter in your car and then connect the black and brown wires.

We need to know the model of your car and model year to get you the correct color codes for the spoiler wires.
It is a 2002 Carrera 4S. Thanks!

I need to do the opposite. I removed a wing and am reinstalling my OEM movable wing. It is pretty straightforward except that the prior owner cut the original wiring harness before he figured out there was a different harness he needed. There are 5 wires that clearly hook into the mechanism/pump that raises the spoiler at speed. All of the cut wires match up.
BUT there are two wires that light up the 3rd brake light on the spoiler itself. I can't find two wires on the harness matching those wires. AND there are two large wires on the harness that didn't appear to have been cut that don't seem to plug into the spoiler (unless they plugged into the mechanism that raises the spoiler at speed. I can't see that anymore because the spoiler mechanism is put together and I don't want to take it apart if I don't have to). HELP! Thanks!

How to retrofit an aerokit wing cup 1. I made the conversion already but the kit didn't come with harness and my soiler light is on all the time. Please email me at dice996c4@omcast.net
Have a look at this thread Spoiler light always on
could I get a copy of the instructions (dwoods@shb.com)? I am trying to remove a wing and install the original spoiler. Thanks!

update:
so I talked to Mike from MA Shaw and he confirmed that it is one of his spoilers. I guaranteed that i would have no problems and that it had been speed tested.
He said that it is exactly replicated from a factory original.
he continued that I could go to his bodyshop where they completed all of their work for their customers vehicles.
I'll keep my fingers crossed and hopes this all works out.
I have the opposite problem. I need to remove a fixed wing installed by a prior owner and return to the OEM spoiler. Does anyone have detailed instructions? I think detailed instructions of how to remove it to install a fixed wing would work.

I still want my dash button that silences the PSE to work. All I want to do is stop the PSE cutting out from 35-45mph. Will this do the trick or will this disable my dash button as well?
