  1. ok have a 05 carrera s currently wearing michlin pilots 295/30/19 on rear and 235/35/19 on the front

friends have p-zeros, i had bridgestones on my ol 996 i do the like handling with the michlins are the pilot 2's better ...... also liked continentals in past is the sport 3 good... whats best if any for wear and ride and grip these currents tyres are noisy i think........ on another thread i read heare some people are saying cheap or expensive they all wear out as each service is due..... obviously dont want to compromise grip tho so not looking to save just get grip with good value.... look forwrad to hearing your views

  2. hi annoyingly i was swapping the sim around and the rounded front trim came off in my hand... then i dropped it now cant find it !!!!!

anyhow its looks like a new one would just clip on.. its not snapped or anything the tray still goes in and out just no front cover

i looked on ebay as i remembered people selling sim tray bits but nada on this occassion as it looks like i havent broken it off and damaged the tray i hope i can replace..... failing that trip to a dealer to pinch one... hehehe

    its a pcm2.1 many thanks

  3. every so often like every 3 days or so after a short start or journey the car dont spark to life.... battery is fine it just takes 10-20 seconds to start and just turns over when it does start it kinda splutters to life.....

servicing is up to date spark plugs were done 6k ago and are good for 24k according to porsche.... someone mentioned glo plug or something and insulation breaking down... when should they be changed can you change 1 by one or have to do all of them.. they are £35 each i think so not a cheap job if it could be them....

    any ideas ?

  4. ok well ive checked the runners and all is well and not loose.... when you accelorate it the back of the seat seems to click back like its giving way by a few mill enought to feel have searched and dont see anything like this but wondered is it an issue with the seat design its self, something worn under the leather ??? its very anoying it feels like a loose runner but its not it doesnt even move when you grab seat and jiggle it just kinda pops back when your sitting in it....

car has done 73k 1999 cab seat not worn or signs of fat PO im 13 stone so not a lard arse either.... right foots a bit heavy but eh its a porsche !!!!!

look forward to hearin from yah

  5. ok guys ive done the search etc on this which there are a few

only in the last few weeks the remote wont unlock the car.. changed battery of course no difference !

car doers get left for over 5 days sometimes... i have tryed the reset/sync methods also mentioned here, no avail !

what is strange is that the central locking works fione from key and button on dash, i noticed the lock comes on when i start, then i can unlock it and next time doesnt i assume im resetting auto lock features maybe ?????

when i do the triple key twist it beeps once at the end of that - what does that mean... it doesnt do that when you twist key once and lock it.. can you explain what this is doing.....

i thought it only bleeped when centre console was open or would a faulty contact stop key remote working ????

also dealer said keys on my 99 c2 cab cant be reprogrammed you have to get new key ? is that right ?

look forward to seeing whats what to some of this :)

  6. well the reason i went to main dealer was accessability the nearest speacialist is 40 minute drive each way etc etc anyway good news main dealer put on ramp and said its only driver side thats gone.. so it cost £300 quid 45 mins labour so extra travel time etc not worth it in this case... noise completly gone now... its bliss it really spolit the drive and this is definatly money well spent imo !!!!!!
