  1. I changed my fac airfilter on my 1999 996 with 66k miles to a K & N and drove with no issues for about 5K miles until i got a CEL a couple of days ago. (P1128). After reviewing a some comments on this forum, i changed the airfilter back to the std factory type and also cleaned the ICV, butterfly valve and the MAF as instructed.

Following this the old CEL cleared and now get P0102.

I may have messed up the MAF while cleaning it. Should i replace the MAF to clear the CEL P0102 ? Wil that work? I have checked for vaccume and intake leaks and did not find any.

    Any ideas? pls help!

  2. My 996 C2 Cab with 65k miles is having some triptronic problems in auto mode. The car shift with no problem upto 4th gear and does not go into 5th gear until 60-75MPH. However in manual mode i have no problems shifting up or down. I took it to a local porsche shop and ran a diag that produced an OBD P0740. The shop checked the AFT level and it came in fine. Replacing pressure reg. 4 fix this problem?

  3. Well, that blocks off the baffle -- but still does not remove it. A while ago I tried to remove the baffle then clamp the plug in place and the orange plugs are just not rigid enough. IMHO... to get the maximum effect you need to remove the baffle (to increase the air volume in the housing). In order to do this you need a better sealing rigid cap like the Fabspeed one. What you don't want is an air (and dirt) leak on the clean side of the air filter - which is where this mod goes.

Any recomendation on using a K&N Airbox mod? Which one better fabspeed or K&N? see attached
