  1. Porsche Boxster 04 manual states on page 243: Fuel tank Refill volume approx 16.9 US GALLONS/64 liters, including approx 2.6 US gallons/10 liters reserve. So if you do the math thas approx 29 miles per gallon what the manufacturers window sticker states. I know it's hard to beleive bit the boxster IS an economical car.
  2. Ok haters, the manual for the 04 says it has a 17 gallon tank so redo your math. I have a de snorkeled and KandN airfilter as well as NO cats. 5 speed,Top up,windows up with an occasional A/C here and there but not more than 15-20 minutes worth of use. No passengers, gas needle was slightly above the orange/red empty line. no luggage I even took a dump prior to that!
  3. I recently made a trip to L.A. and got 500miles using cruise control of course. This is an 04 boxster(2.7) with 28k miles and stock plugs. Are you getting more or less?
  4. Damm thanks for all that info. I'll look into those brands you mentioned.
  5. Sorry about not being more precise, Im looking for light weight, performance if any, gas economy and a little sound.
  6. Can anyone share some knowledge in regards to muffles? I have a speed yellow 04 boxster and was wondering which muffler would be the best choice since there are several brands out there. Thanks in advance.
  7. Which brand do you gentlemen prefer? I read that valentine is top choice, Is that correct in you opinions? I'm in texas so I don't know what type or radar they use.
  8. Thanks for the info, I never displayed intrest or visited my dealership(not even for an oil change) but it was free so i'll take it. Thanks again.
  9. Can anyone tell me why some of us received an official porsche tin sign? I got this street sign looking sign that looks like a street name in the mail via federal express, It's for the cayenne advertisement, any of you guys get it too? For free of course.
  10. I was wondering if any of you had purchased this? If you have please let me know what you think of. Im thinking of buying one myself. thanks http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...E:X:RTQ:GB:1123
  11. I saw some of these on ebay but was wondering if any of you had them on your boxsters? I need a set because here in Texas they are needed. Any suggestions of were else I can find them? I have a speed yellow 2004 boxster. Thanks in advance
  12. Were are you getting your reliability data from? Not consumer reports right?
  13. I just put new tires on my 04 boxster and was wondering why I felt the car accelerate faster....was it the tires, my brain? so thats why I was wondering. Thanks for your input.
  14. So what your saying is that since the compound is hardened it may allow the old tire to "slide" and create a lesser traction? so if thats the case, would that mean that I would get higher gas milage and faster acceleration? thanks
  15. I'm wondering, if you had a boxster with worn out tires and a boxster with brand new tires and they were both to drive off at 75 from a standstill, not a race, just driving, would the acceleration and/or speed maintainence be the same between both cars or would the car with the new tires beat it? and why? thanks in advance
  16. YOUR ALL WRONG SPEED YELLOW ALL THE WAY!!!!
  17. So aside from the K&N air filter and cat bypass that I have, which other mod would you recommend that Is easy and dosent take thousands of dollards to do?
  18. I was looking into buying a set of headers but I dont know If they make that big of a difference. I own an 04 boxster and as soon as a bypassed the cats I noticed a great difference. Does anyone have headers installed in there boxster? Any brands recommended? Danke
  19. Thanks I wont, I just came from the auto parts store and they are telling me that I can return them so thats cool. Thanks
  20. Thank you for your input, You have tought an old dog a new trick.
  21. NOPE the NGK'S have only one prong insted of 4 like the stocks, they have the pin made of iradium and the loop part made of platnium. They can be made out of gold but if they make my baby run like crap I dont want them. Why did I buy them? Because I was told by the auto parts store that they are the best for that car :( I will replace them with the old ones and order the OEM"s any suggestions of a web page that sells them for a good price? thanks
  22. Update I took the car for a test drive after I installed the NGL IRIDIUM spark plugs and I could tell the difference, When I woke up this morning to go to work at 33f weather everything was well UNTIL I came to a stop, The idle began to get rough and dropped to the point I had to accelerate it so It wouldnt die. I drove away and it worked very good then on my way back home once in a while It began to get rough as I accelerated, It didnt do it all the time but Im worried, should I double check my work to make sure I didnt leave a spark plug loose? should I use THREAD LOCK on the spark plugs? Or should I simply take the ngk's out and put the original ones back and order the OEM spark plugs?? Please help me out. Thansk
  23. I just changed the spark plugs on my 04 Boxster and found out that Porshe recommends you change the every 60,000 miles. My boxster has 25k and I felt that with gas prices so high changing the spark plugs wouldnt hurt, Do you guys think I should of waited or do you feel I did the right thing? I put the NGK laser(10dls each)spark plugs in myself..any opinions?
