Loren,
I have a Porsche 928 with a Porsche CD-2 radio, vintage early 90's. The info on the back of the radio is:
S.No PO CD-2 A 09 15476
B 0 0915476 B
Can you give me some clues about the code for this radio? THANKS,
Gary Knox

Loren,
I have a becker radio in my Mercedes that doesn't have a code, and I need to "restart it". It is a Becker Audio 30 radio, Model number 4705, and the serial number is Y1030603. Can you help me out with the code? Thanks,
Gary Knox

Loren,
I have the serial number for the Porsche CD-2 radio. On the back metal panel, the following is inscribed:
S/NO PO CD-2 A 03 13943
B 0 03 13943 A
Hope this may be helpful in getting a code number, or a start on one at least!!
Thanks again for your help.

Try 0799
Loren,
0799 will not work, as this radio only has 6 buttons, with digits 1 through 6. Any other suggestions (it is either a Blaupunkt or Alpine radio, I understand).
Thanks
Gary Knox
Sorry, I have tried the decoders I have and the only one that will accept that serial number gives 0799.
Sorry.
Loren,
THANKS anyway, I appreciate your effort. I'll try other searches.

Is there any rear brake upgrade kit for Porsche 928?
I want monoblock calipers.
Standard brake rotors on my car is now 951-352-041-91 and calipers 92835242103 and 92835242203.
I am a wear of that i need some brackets to make monoblock calipers to fit.
Is it any one here who has did a upgrade i reqest here????
\Bruno,
You can upgrade the rear braking on a 928 by changing the bias valve ( it is on the left fender inside the engine compartment, a round cylinder in the brake line about where the PS fluid reservoir is). Most come OE with an 18 bar valve. 33 bar, 45 bar and 55 bar are available. 45 bar is out of production, but you might be able to find one. 33's and 55's are readily available from 928 International and 928 Specialists (www.928intl.com, and www.928gt.com respectively in the US, or Porsche dealers, obviously).

Loren,
This radio, made which I find was made by Alpine, rather than Blaupunkt requires 5 digits for the code. Don't have the serial #, unfortunately. I'd appreciate any help you can give. Thank you for all you do for us.

Loren,
I have a Blaupunkt CD-2 which was the original equipment premium radio in the early '90's cars. I'd like to put it in my '94 928 GTS, but don't have the code for it. CODE now comes up, does it need four numbers, or less than that? I do not have a serial number for it, do you have a code access, or a recommendation on how I can get the code?? THANKS for your help.

Jim,
I don't drive a 996, but I've done about 25 track days at the Glen, with several different PCA regions in DE's. It is my favorite track - also driven Lime Rock about 10 days, Pocono 3 days, Mid Ohio about 10 days, Mt Tremblant 5 days, Road America 3 days, Virginia Int'l about 10 days (VIR is my second favorite). It is fast, it has great rhythm, it has a beautiful setting (village, lakes, rocky glen at the park), and of course the historic aspects of the originial track for the US Grand Prix, the first Sports Car road race in the US, etc.
Make a trip to the Glen, and Lime Rock will no longer be as attractive - my experience at least.

Please read the previous posts - if the numbers I gave you do not work then you need to contact your dealer or Becker. Last I heard - Becker charges $30.

Sorry, I think I may have posted this improperly!! Bad newby <_<
-
Loren,
Sorry about the duplicate questions - new to this board!!
I find it very interesting that the CDR 23 radio is essentially identical in function, front face appearance, rear plug in configuration etc. to the Chrysler Crossfire radio also made by Becker. That radio does not use any code system, and it does have excellent AM/FM/CD performance.
I have a CDR 220 in the 928 GTS now. Just like the looks, operation, etc. of the CDR 23 better, and would like to install one. There's gotta be a way to by pass the MOST &n code requirement - Becker didn't even put it in the Crossfire radios.
Guess I'll contact Becker to see what they have to say. I can send them an e-mail from their website: www.beckerautosound.com
THANKS AGAIN for your assistance,
Gary Knox
-
Loren,
I really like the appearance of the CRD 23 radio, and am interested in replacing a CDR 220 radio I have in an older Porsche ('94 928 GTS). CAN IT BE DONE??? IF so, how would I go about it? I have a friend with a CRD 23 that is readily available - is a code needed?
THANK YOU for your assistance to so many people with radio code problems etc. in the past, and hope you might know a way to make this work
!!!
Cheers,
Gary Knox
