  1. I just finished installing a Kenwood DNX5120 in my 2004C4s with Bose Most Amp. Is there anyway to turn this amp on, or should I go to a different amp? or, should I use the speaker outputs from the Kenwood, and wire them to the speakers. Another thought is, can I use the Amp turn on connection from the Kenwood +12V, and wire it straight to the Positive of the amplifier, or should I do it through a relay.
  2. Thanks for the response. The open lid works for now, but the mods4cars is what I was looking for. I will also work on extending the remote range, because right now if I am more than 5 feet away, it will not work. Thanks again everyone.
  3. I have been searching but could not find what I am looking for. Is there any way to make the horn beep when you lock or unlock your car. I remember seeing something on that subject a while ago, but can't seem to find it . It is very annoying when you press the lock button, and really don't know if the car is locked or not. I am sure there has to be something out there. My Porsche is a 2004 C4S Cab. Thanks.
  4. I realize its a dealer, but I ordered the exact trim piece through Ray Catena Porsche in NJ and it only cost $5.93. Mine hasn't come in yet, its due in Monday. Joe D. Joe, Thanks for the quick response. Is your trim piece for the middle or upper part of your lower console? I would like to find one for the upper side personally. RotorHead Hi, I dont think the upper slot will hold the AC Heat controller. Its slightly larger and there are slots in teh frame that the components slide into. I think it can only go on the bottom. My trim piece was ordered for the bottom. Thanks, Joe D. Hi Joe, Was wondering if you successfully moved your AC Heat controller to the bottom slot. I am thinking of doing the same to install a nav system. My question is, were the wires long enough to reach the bottom slot, and can you post the part # of the trim piece you got from Ray Catena Porsche for the lower slot. Thanks. I dont have the part number yet. Its been in since Monday and I wont be able to get it until Saturday. I can post it then. Or, you can call them and ask for Allan. He is top notch. Just tell him its the same one Joe D. ordered. Joe D. Hi Joe, Thanks for the response. No problem, I just picked up the trim piece at my local dealer in Newport Beach, also the 2 brackets required to install the A/C controller in the lower slot. I also picked up the top Boxter shelf, as it is smaller and fits where the CD caddy was with no modifications. If you need the numbers for the bracket or the top shelf, let me know. Good luck with your install. John John, Can you post the part numbers for the brackets and the Boxster shelf? Could you also please include pics (if possible.) Thanks! RotorHead The bracket number is 996 573 501 00 (2 required) The Boxter Top shelf (smaller one) is 996 552 253 01 The A/C trim for the lower slot is 996 552 339 00 I am in the process of painting the parts that fit in the lower console speed yellow. The batwing, the A/C controler, and the boxter shelf. I will post a picture after I am finished. John

  6. Hi all, I am in the process of installing a Pioneer Avic-Z1 in my 2004 C4s Cabriolet. I was thinking of installing a backup camera, but really can't find where to put the camera. Any ideas anyone, or if you installed one, maybe a picture as to where you installed it. Thanks.

  8. I assume that you mean that you are trying to remove the Bose subwoofer on the right side of the console. There is another T27 bolt in the front under the carpet. There is a pull back area on the carpet to access the bolt. Thank you very much for your help. Thats what I was looking for. I did not know that this was the Bose subwoofer. This is my first Porsche.
  9. I am trying to remove the lower center console, and have read everything on the subject. Left side of console went OK, however on the right side of console, I cannot remove the carpeted panel to remove the last screw that holds the lower center console in. Instructions say pull carpeted panel, but on my 2004 4s, I had to remove a T27 screw at the rear of panel, and the panel got loose, but there seems to be a screw on the front of the panel somewhere, and wont let me remove the panel. I don't want to force or break the panel, so if someone can give me any help, it will really be appreciated. Thanks.
