997.11.105.00 -- exhaust manifold cylinders 1-3 (X51)
997.11.106.00 -- exhaust manifold cylinders 4-6 (X51)
Thanks Loren, I'll drop Sunset a line, and hope they're not in the stratosphere price range

I need the part # for a set of X51 Headers 9997S. I'M hoping they can be ordered without buying the whole system.
Thanks

How do you remove the ignition rosette from the dash?. In My 996 I think I remember using a small screwdriver somewhere. I want to send it off to Bumperplugs for painting
Thanks
David

George gave me the info on removal if anyone is interested.
Pry from below with a screwdriver, and it will slide off of its tabs to the top.
FWIW, I replaced my plastic rest with the Porsche matching aluminum rest. Looks better, but for $160.00 I was disappointed at the quality, still mostly plastic with a little aluminum showing through.

Hi,
Here is a picture of the step. I can not
find the size of screw 6 or 9.
Hope this works for you.
Paul
Thanks Paul, I can't see a way to get to the nut behind the pedal, maybe pull away the carpet from the top??

Are these available?. I saw them on Porsche's site, under the "Marrone Metallic" Cab.

I have read conflicting posts and order info (Sunset which has a with/without CD changer option) on which kit to order if no CD changer is present. If there is no CD changer order the kit that indicates with CD changer? . There's a y connector in the with CD kit thats needed?. I have a system with NAV, no CD changer
Thanks, probably beaten to death but unclear.

Incidentally, where can I order the Sirius kit from? I see Suncoast has it for just over $1000. Is that the typical price?
I found a website that claims to sell it for $699, but I'm a bit leary (autopartsnationwide.com). Any experience with them?
I'm thinking this might be my Xmas gift to myself. As if the car wasn't already a Xmas gift to myself. (Actually it was a Thanksgiving gift.)
I emailed them, was quoted $974.75 plus shipping, it would take three days to get it in. Seems legit, but far from the Price list they have on the website

It's a mystery to me Loren, I got the car new and it was like that from day one. I just assumed it was a new Porsche quirk ;) .
Sounds like a dealer fix, if I can find one I trust enough to move wires
-
I never realized it but my mirror switch for the exterior mirrors seems to be reversed. If you switch left it moves the passenger side, right the drivers. push down it moves up etc. I guess it's supposed to be that way?, after 2 years it just occurred to me that maybe it's not the way it's supposed to be.

try a claybar, they work well for overspray.

To remove the stock spoiler top. In the raised position, support the wing with pads or foam. You'll need a "C" spanner (looks like a "C" with a notch, similar to the tool to adjust shocks. You'll turn the support pillars counter- clockwise with the spanner. You can also try a rubber strap type wrench to turn the outer tubes. Lift up on the wing and remove

FUEL LEVEL DISPLAY
Problem
If the power supply is interrupted by a discharged or disconnected battery with the tank containing less than 19 I, the calculated value for the range on remaining fuel in the instrument cluster will be incorrect or deleted.
If the tank contains less than 10 I, it is possible that the fuel level warning light is no longer activated.
If the power supply is restored with the fuel level at less than 19 I, it is possible that the fuel level display may subsequently display too much.
This may lead to the vehicle breaking down.
Remedy
Refill at least 19 I of fuel; then the fuel level sensor is in operating range and its display precision is guaranteed.

...Appear on the engine deck. I can see them go up and into the back of the engine, but lose sight.

FWIW they changed the MAF twice on my TT. I was told the Bosch units aren't that great. The readout on the PST2 said MAF failure. ( the ABS/PSM light came on at high boost)
The cost on the invoice (still under warranty) was listed as $119.00, which Porsche picked up.
BTW I checked and cleaned it after the first one went. I used a torx screwdriver I drilled the center out with a small bit to fit in the little raised point in the center of the screw.

Oh, didn't know you removed the first filter. What I found that works best, is a 60cc syringe with a 14 gauge needle. (dull the needle) It can get through to all sides without any mess and doesn't bend like tubes do, if necessary during a flush you can get every last drop out of there. If you don't have any medical friends let me know, or try a feed and grain store.
-
It's not a Flux capacitor but is a Dilithium storage capsule:)
It's a filter, that pops right out. Put your finger in there (gloves are a good idea), and pull up

Location of the boost line from the wastegate would also be great
Thanks
-
By adjusting the internal wastegate with the actuator rod, would boost come in faster and hold?. I guess I would like to minimize some of the 'Creep" and keep the boost up in the taller gears
-
Thanks Karl. I wont be there until next month for Friday at the track. Any chance you took a picture be for mounting? If not I could probably figure it out.
-
I was trying to find which B-K mount works with the GT3 seats, any ideas?. I think I read a while back that one of them does work with some minor modifications, but wasn't sure which set it is.

Question on bleeding with SRF....
I open a new can, bleed the brakes, top it off... now what. I have 3/4 of a $65 can of brake fluid left. Is it garbage? How long will it keep "re-sealed" ?
The fluid capacity is .67 quarts (.64 liters)
How did you wind up only using .25 liters?

Thanks Craig, it's not that i'm washing the engine, it's water that gets in from the decklid during a normal wash. Makes me wonder about driving in a hard rain.
X51 Headers part number?
in 997-1 Series Part Number Requests
Posted
Loren, where was the typo?. Those are the parts I ordered from Jeff at Sunset, and he didn't mention a problem with the numbers.
BTW they are ~ $100 less then the retail.
Thanks
