  1. If you want aftermarket then Google B&K for the bracket and SafeCraft for a neat Halon 2.5# extingusher w/ billet aluminum mount.

I had the factory setup in my car, but after I upgraded to the Carrera GT seats, the mount no longer fit. I went with the SafeCraft recommended above. I picked it up from Livermore Performance

A few pics of the install:

Hopefully, I'll never have to find out whether it works or not!

  2. You can't get the clock-only on the screen, but if you hit the "Trip" button on the Nav, select Sport Display... or something like that... it'll start counting laps for you that you can store and review later.

A great feature for a DIY hack or upcoming release would be an external trigger on the PCM lap timer integrated with a Traqmate, G2X or even a Hot Lap...

  3. I have a LWSMFW stock in my RS. I assume you would install the OEM item. Is so you will have the usual clatter in idle...no big thing AND you won't have any problem with stalling at lights. You will find it revs more freely almost as if you were running carbs. That said as far as installation, do it through Porsche. :)

I've got the OEM part in my 997 GT3. It certainly does rev more freely... Was it worth the $$ on the upgrade? Jury's still out. I'm not convinced. Yet.
