Ok, here is what I did. Went to unlock the car and the remote did not work, because the car battery was too low (not dead). I unlocked the door with the key, and the alarm went off. I popped the hood, and just disconnected the battery. After charging the battery, I put the cables back on, and the alarm went back on again. So, I closed the hood, locked the door and (locked with the key) (car all locked now) but the alarm kept going. At this point, I unlocked the car with the key again, popped the hood, and disconnected the battery again. Any suggestions ? Thanks so much. Cheers.

That is what I thought. I called the dealer however, and the service writer (maybe not a tech) said that I should not try to start the car until the alarm is off. Otherwise the system gets locked even further, and could fry itself.
