Imagine if a dealer could die from GREED. :DAlso had a 2008 GT2. Guess this is the one with launch control.Should have paid more attention to it - but the $78,900 dealer markup distracted me.....

From what I've seen, the bottom beam always faces forward and the top beam can pan left/right during a turn.

I totally agree.I know it is a small change in thickness, but after feeling XPA wheels on other cars, I think it feels much richer than the plastic feeling standard sport wheel on my Targa.I just bought an '08 Carrera S Coupe [Meteor Gray Metallic/Black Leather] yesterday and it came with the XPA option.

I've seen both sport wheels on the S models.
The [optional] thicker one, is always listed as an [$800] option on the window sticker.

What is the MSRP of the thicker sport wheel [XPA]?
I know that it's an $800 option for the 997 "S" models.

I put 90 miles on a launch 911 C2S/PDK and it was GREAT!
I left it in sport mode the entire time .
Next time, I'll know better.
I plan on ordering my next 911 with PDK.
