  1. Hello folks...,

The 911 of a friend of mine developped a problem with this vent hose no 4 on the image.

The hose is not expensive but i would like to know if it is possible to replace the hose easily i mean without dropping the engine.By the way where goes the hose exactly....

Could it be possible to changed it just by removing trottle body and some hoses.

    Thanks

    Robert

  2. Hello..,

Did you call your insurance cie....

a year ago i have had a wiring fire with my BMW and finally the insurance scrapted my car....too expensive to fix...it should be the same for you or they will fix it with new wiring cable and new control box....that certainly worth a call because if you want to fix it perfectly it could cost you many many thousand dollars and of corse don't forget to ask for dammage evaluation and the repair at the dealership only...trust it will cost a lot more then you can think....

    Good luck

    Robert

  3. Hello folks...,

Today for no reason the left xenon headlight of my Porsche stop working......only the flasher work so the low and high beam refuse to work.

I have had a look at the fuses A1 and A2....they are OK.

All the other lights work perfectly.

Any idea...could it be the electronic control box behind the light assembly....

    Thanks

  4. Hello Hermann!

    A world of difference...,

The first thing i can say... the Boxster is i think more ''Sporty'' you drive it like a goKart. If you intend to do track event with the Porsche Club this is i think the best car to drive in a close circuit.

The 911 is more quiet inside then the Boxster and of corse the biggest difference is

THE TORQUE...Wow what a difference. You depress the pedal and POW your are lunch like a plane....absolutely fantastic.

I used to have many Porsche in my life and for me the real Porsche is still the 911.When i drove for the first time my new 911 C4 i immediatly said this is a real Porsche this is what you are looking for when you drive a Porsche.

    There is no substitute...

    Hope this help

Ive been considering a 2003 boxster and a 1999 Carrera, and will probably making a decision in the next few days.

I would love to hear your opinions on the Carrera vs. the Boxster, and some details about your purchase.

    happy driving.

    Hermann.

  7. Hello folks..,

As a new member to the 987-1 series forum i have to ask a question....,

I sold my 1999 Boxster to a friend and my question is...

I would like to know if the 2005 and up Boxster are more reliable the old 986 1999 Boxster regarding the engine (RMS IMS) and the car in general

    Thanks

    Robert

  9. Hello Bluebox03....

I was talking about the O'ring with Porsche no 98639702700.

The O'ring is expensive ...around $70.00.The O'ring is the one that goes on the shaft....

The O'ring i changed is not the one that Loren showed up.

The O'ring is smaller then that and by the way i use to have many Porsche and i had to change this O'ring almost all of the time and always in the same side....pass side.

I also bought the original gear oil also very expensive $40.00 liter.

By the way Loren if you still have the schema of the differential i will show up the O'ring i had to changed to fix the leak.

    Good luck

    Robert

  10. Hello folks....long time no talk

I'm looking for new wheels for my Boxster 1999.

The one i'm looking for are OriginalBoxster wheels 18in X 7.5 front and 50 offset and rear 9 X 18in and offset of 62

Do you think i will need spacers and if so how many mm...

    Thanks

    Robert

  11. Hello Folks...,

I will have to change one of the differential 0 ring tomorrow.

I know the differential oil use by Porsche is a special oil looking like motor oil in color and smelling different then motor oil.

Is it possible to buy this differential oil somewhere else then at the Porsche Dealership.... VW Dealer.

    Thanks

    Robert
