I did the job myself. Not too difficult, but takes time. Once you get one side done, the other goes much quicker. Researched two ways, I'd advise not to go the exhaust removal route unless you plan to remove and reinstall entire system. I believe I ordered the kits from Pelican and they also have a good tech write-up. Good luck!

+1 from Pelican. Replaced belt when I did the alt.

Any luck finding a stem supplier? Need one here.

I have a 2002 Boxster S that I can't open the rear trunk.
The key fob and interior button, when pressed, do cause a solenoid sound from the trunk, but no release.
The front works fine.
Is there another way in?
Thanks in advance.

I'm thinking... the stealer will tell you that you need to replace the seat memory control module.
They will try to charge you over $1000
Not to hijack your thread, but I have a similar problem.
I have a runaway drivers seat every time I lock and unlock the car using the key button.
When I unlock, the drivers seat moves all the way forward and up. I assume this was set at one time with the seat/key memory function, but I have tried all steps in OM to reprogram with no luck. If I use the other key, it also goes to another setting, but at least not all the way up.
It's like an olympic sport, every time I unlock the car, I have to quickly reach in and press and hold the seat memory buttion for my stored position, before I get crushed.
Can I just pull a fuse to at least stop the motion?
reminds me of the movie 'Christine'!!

Service Mgr at local P-dealer ran a list for free. All I needed was the registration for proof of ownership.

I have a 01 S , the top works great but I have never done anything to it. Is there some basic maintenance ie tightening/lube to the mechanism that I should do ?
I use Maguire's plastic cleaner and polish on the window.
need to replace axel boots?

Oh, and....wear latex gloves and have lots of paper towels and rags around. Just by moving it, there will be grease everywhere. Repacking is also easy!
