  1. Hi, Getting my Blueflame full system including headers and cats fitted on friday morning to my 987 3.2S. i have been impressed with their stuff before, on my old TT i had sports cats and full system and full systems on two peugeot 205s i built for track and road use. On the 205's in particular, i was impressed with the results and the quality of the workmanship as both were cutom fit to designed for none 205 engines to my specs. anyway the fact i got a deal on this that makes it a third the price of the equivalent miltek system swung it for me Once i am done at Blueflame then its up the road to preston to take it back to ADL in the afternoon to have my revo remap restored after the dealer flashed my ecu. While i am there they are going to tweak/customise the map to suit my new spec. In preparation for this on Tuesday/Wednesday i am going to change the spark plugs, fuel filter and air filter. The car has now covered 36k and is 44 months old, so its not far off its 4 year 40k service anyway and with the 2 year, 20k service having been carried out at my local OPC. I am willing to bet some if not all of these items have never been replaced, so it makes sense to me to change them to get the most out of the exhaust and to optomise the tweeks to the remap. Anyway that brings me to the air filter, i not sure there if is any mileage in this, but bearing in mind the mods i have. would it be worth fitting either a K&N or a BMC etc panel filter. these are the only two i have found so far. Or is it worth finding a full induction kit for the 987, not that i have seen any so far. I was going to go with the OEM paper filter and having looked at the PET system the improvements make to the air intake system on the 987 over the 986 are clear to see, so that leads me to believe that a full induction kit probably maybe the wrong way to go and Porsche may have already done a very good job. i know there are lots of old threads on here and other forums such as Rennlist etc and there maybe issues with MAF Failures etc But alot of them deal with the 986 not the 987, so whats the latest thinking/opinion on what to use on a mildly modded 987, is it stick with OEM, Panel Filter or even Full Induction Kit? Finally will either the panel filter or a full induction system make the car sound like a Chav Wagon? Thanks Mark
  2. Hi i am a newbie to the forum and have had my 05 boxster S for just under two months Ever since i bought it its had annoying fault that seems to disappear after the car has been running 10 minutes or so there seems to be a knocking noise from the back of the car that is quite prevalent at first and gradually diminshes until after 10-15 minutes of driving its gone altogether i took it back to porsche, but of course the car was warm and they could find nothing wrong i took it to a friend of mine who is a mechanic, put it on the ramp and also we could not find anything. once we took it off the ramp we happening to be playing with the manual operation button for the spoiler and deployed it. once it was deployed we noticed that one of the hydralic rams seems to have some play in it and also seem to make a knocking noise. with someone outside moving the spoiler, if someone else is in the car its sounds a lot like the noise i am hearing. has anyone else had problems with the spoiler knocking, it works fine deploying and retracting on the move as it should, but i cant get my head around why the noise would disappear after the car has been driven from a while could this noise be the spoiler or am i mistaken? help thanks mark
