    I think I paid $250 a skirt for paint and install (500 total). BTW, not to rain on your parade, but 658 is not a killer deal. Brandywine and others have been selling them for 599 or less for some time now. Nonetheless, at least you didn't overpay. I am sure you can get a good deal if you get the skirts AND bumparettes done at the same time. I paid about 125 for the bumparettes a few months before I did the skirts. The skirts and painted bumparettes will change the look dramatically on your car. I couldn't beleive it till I picked up the car from the body shop. Did you get the front spoiler (GT3) as well to complement the skirts?

    What is the 993 part? My local dealer here will cut me a brake on labor but their parts dept is horrible so I told them I would order the parts myself and bring them in. MY service guy said it was fine since they are seperate from the parts desk. So these three part numbers are all I need then? I am sure this route is a tad bit more expensive than going to an upholstery shop that does all makes or tops, but in my opinion it is worth it to get it done right a tthe dealer. Thanks Loren! Dell

    Need a little help with three parts (MY00CAB): 1. The ignition surround (Black plastic or AS to match the rest of my interior pieces--both part numbers if possible) 2. The piece that snaps on to the side of the ebrake area on the rear center console (same as above...black plastic and AS if avail) 3. Speaker grills for the top dash L&R (for some reason my two rear speaker grills and two door grills are black and the two up on the top dash are grey)....I am requesting the part numbers for the black replacements. I have the speakers that have a small woofer AND tweeter under the grill. Thanks! Dell

    That one WOULD look great painted. Does the cup car strip fit onto the GT3 spoiler in the same fashion as the lip spoiler? I would be interested in moving to that if I could do it. Thanks Jim, Dell

    I need to replace the 2 strips that run from the a/c vents on the side around the windshield line to the alarm receptor on the dash as well as the respector piece itself. If I bought a set from an 04 would they fit my 00?

    Jim, I was assuming that the speed was not going to exceed 150 since the comment made was that he was scraping the lip spoiler and paint was coming off (sorry if that is what I implied). I realize there is a benefit of high speed enhanced stability for those that exceed (150) but that is a very small number of drivers. By no means do I want to give incorrect info, just was trying to give the simplist explanation for the paint scratching off and the remedy for that problem.

    My lip spoiler gets scratched all the time and it is undetectable to the casual observer. Guess its time to get a black car? Just playing. The AS looks great.

    Exoticar here in Vegas....they are the shop that the dealer uses. They do great work. They also did my GT3 front and sides.

    IMHO I think b/c it looks better. I don't think Porsche's intent was for it to be painted anyway. But some get it painted after the fact anyway. Basically it comes down to personal preference though.

    My bad, you are correct......I remember talking to him about it and he said he has an unpainted one that is going on to replace the painted one in due time. Sorry about the misinformation. :oops:

    Any way to do the conversion? It looks like what changed from 99-01 to 02+ is that when the window went from plastic to glass it got smaller since it can't fold in half like the plastic. Can the switch be made? I really need a tinting solution for this heat and sun out in Vegas. I don't think we have but about 5 days of clouds all year! I AM OPEN TO ANY SUGGESTION?     Your car would look great with the silver 911 logo. Considered it? As for your spoiler (I assume you are referring to the lip spoiler)...the reason paint scratched off is becasue it is supposed to. That is why it is plastic and that is why it attached to the bottom of the GT3 spoiler (to protect the paint on the GT3 not the lip with is not supposed to be painted). Loren has the same color scheme as you so if you want to see what it looks like with the black lip spoiler on the AS car, check it out. By the way, the kit looks great on the car and PSE you will love more and more everyday. Music to your ears! Enjoy, Dell :cheers:

    I realize you can't tint the plastic window for the cab top...but can a dark colored or smoked plastic or something be purchased that would work when the window is replaced? Or is the only replacement plastic window clear? I really am tired of the sun in LV just beating through the rear with no protection, etc. Thanks! Dell

    I have the factory AS painted rear center console and would like to replace the 5 leather pieces (2 at front, rear, and one at the ebrake) with AS painted pieces as well (the console does not come with these). Can they be purchased or would this be an aftermarket job? 1. Part Numbers for just black plastic ones that can be painted? 2. Part Numbers for AS ones if available? Many thanks! Dell

    You really need to do a search on this topic.....I can't tell you how many times it has been asked here and on rennlist. I remember seeing that there are aftermarket companies that sell the TT look tail for the narrow body.

    Grab a used one off of eBay (anywhere from $100-$1500 depending on your timing.....be patient). Then have it painted according to your exterior color. All you need to make sure is that the interior of the top matches the interior color of your car and you are set. There may be some additional pieces to make the Boxster "hardtop" ready if isn't already setup for a hartop acceptance. You will need to see what they are from somebody more knowledgeable about the parts required....like ToolPants.
