Forgot to warn you. Sorry.

I would stick with the 5MM. I have them with 285s and love them. But, if it is bling you are after, then as wide as you want to go is fine.
-
Have you tried Ralph Boothe?
-
Should be identical.
-
Wow! 51 is from "back in the day". I thought I got on board quickly. The site really has grown....Welcome Back

Like father, like daughter. or is it the other way around? :)
-
Do you have a local PCA chapter that you belong to? I know here in Vegas we have alot of guys that would swing by in a situation like yours.
-
sorry for my poor choice of semantics. But you do have to register. I guess membership implies $$$ and that wasn't my intent.
-
FYI....you can't access that site w/o a membership.

Thanks George. Now I don't have to go back and ask what happened to my thrid key :)
-
Keep us posted. Hope it all works out.

So I just picked up my new 955 and only got 2 keys. Both are Masters (swithcblade remotes). My 996 came with a non-remote valet key as well. Should I have received more key(s)???
-
Creepy that the part number is a 997 now! I guess RMS is happing often in that camp as well?
-
I'll tell you the same thing that I tell my stats students. Correlation does not equal causation. Meaning? Just b/c you installed the smarttop, does not mean that one thing caused another.
I know that in my 996 the interior light stays on when I shut the door and then goes off when I arm the system.
Also, have you tried any other troubleshoots? Removing the smart top unit and seeing if the occurance still is present? It is easy to point one direction b/c of a recent change but make sure you have exhausted all avenues a priori.
But, if after all that you are certain the problem ONLY exists with the smart top unit in the car I would definitely email Sven over at Wilhelmy. He was EXTREMELY helpful during the group buy I organized and I am sure would remedy any problem very quickly.

This might be a job for the PST2.

dealership for warranty work.

Huh? Are you talking about the embossed cresst you can order on ALL seats?
-
Sounds like the new X51 option for the 997 that will be on the PCA Coupe' but not sure since I have never heard of TechArt doing the Porsche power kit. But for $16 on top of the premium for the "S" model that would be one FAST car! 380hp!!!!!!!!!
-
Sure about that? My C2 CAB rear seat fold down to give me a shelf as well.

You can buy updates but they have to be from Porsche directly. If you log on to the Navtech website they will direct you to the dealer for replacements. Quite the money making deal they have!!! You CANNOT use a disc from anywhere else, as it will not work. I can't even use the PCM disc from my family's S class Mercedes in the M class Mercedes. Just another way for them to keep making money. Best thing for you to do if you want an updated disc is to find the best dealer price and so with that.
-
What do you mean? I can only guess one of two scenarios that you are referring to:
1. an old PCM disc that is sold to you from somebody that has upgraded to a new disc
or
2. obtaining an illegal copy of a current disc.
I sure hope you are not referring to the second choice or that I have totally misunderstood what you are asking.

Good one izzy. And remember, the only one you REALLY need to impress (better payoffs) is the wife!
Thickest wheel spacers on a 996?
in 996 Series (Carrera, Carrera 4, Carrera 4S, Targa)

Subtle, but still noticeable. I didn't take any pics of the rear though. Somebody over on Rennlist though posted pics of his 17mm spacer on the rear runnning with a 10x18 rim and 285 rubber. STUCK OUT! Didn't look good. My suggestions is either the factory 5's or aftermarket 7's.
