  1. Here is one of his other screen names. Try and checking out his feedback on this one. You can't b/c he made it private. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Brand-New-P...sspagenameZWDVW

He sells the nickel and dime stuff that you can't help but say something nice on the ruf_gt2 name, but the big ticket items were sold under the other name (check that one out). By the way, the reason he had so many positives was that the majority of his sales (I checked them under his feedback before he went private) were $1 cell phone names plates. Kinda hard to screw that up. Not to mention it looked a bit fishy when you looked it over since alot of the same people had bought multiple items with little feedback scores. Looked a bit like feedback inflation.

Trust me, this screen name will eventually turn out like the other ones. Besides, wouldn't you leave positive feedback on an item that cost less painted than it actually does as a plain plastic part from the dealer if you had to go pick one up?

  2. There was talk of having somebody pay him a "visit" since most of us know most of the info he uses (phone #'s, address, names, etc.) but then that would be setting us up for some possible outcomes that maybe we wished post hoc that we didn't.

There is a sucker born every minute and if someobdy doesn't do the proper research to protect themselves them sometimes you just gotta let them get burned.......but we will do everything we can to protect those that hang out on these boards!

  3. eBay is notorious for doing NOTHING. We basically have to police ourselves and hope others (like here) can look out for us. The most they will do is allow you to give him a negative feedback and guess what, he will do the same to you! Yeah, that's fair. He has several tricks like making his feedback private (which eBay will let you do) so nobody can see all the negatives, he will bounce from id to id since he has a few. There was a HUGE backlash against this guy and he went away for a couple months but now he is back in business and people don't know any better.

  4. huge diff in power? Is this the traditional butt dyno or have you actually tested it on real equipment. Trust me, there is not a major delta in performance on the car when you install this setup. I'd be interested to see your before and after dyno sheets. My guess is no more than about 10-15hp total and that is at the top end of the RPM range and for low end, probably sub 10hp.

Not knocking you mod, beautiful setup and great exhaust note, but not "huge" difference in hp.

  5. One more thing......don't you think it is odd that there were so many bids by somebody with a rating of 0. Sounds like somebody was bidding them selves (him) in very small increments to do 2 things:

    1) create the appearance of demand (21 bids but only you and 1 other member)

    2) to be willing to take the hit on the listing fee by bidding with his own fake id to try add get to what you would have paid rather than the lowest amount.

**look at the bidding, the 18 or so bids by him were all very small increments and many times over. NOBODY bids like that. Also, his last bid after you raised your he bid one last time to get another $25 out of you right before the auction ended. Trust me, if he was willing to pay $525 to begin with he would have never bid in the pattern that was shown.

    Caveat Emptor.

  6. If you do a search on this jack*** you will find out what a scammer he is. He has a few different eBay names and has done exaclty what he is doing to you to many guys and has created alot of heartache. His paintwork is 2nd rate and looks like it was spraypainted in the garage. His shipping charge will be WAY overpriced as will his painting charge. You need to run VERY far from this and be glad you did.

Byt he way, there are many threads over on Rennlist and 6Speed abouit this guy and wake of terror he has left. His original screen name is something like Deedoonewhila (spelling?) and a few variations of Ruf_Gt2, etc.

Nothing good will come form this so continue at your own risk. But would hate to see you go forward with him and then get burned. Just look at what he did to his description AFTER you bid and then all the "extras" he offered you.

In this case, "you get what you pay for" and then have to pay more to get what you paid for in the first place. This can not have a happy ending. Too many red flags have popped up and that should have been your first clue to run.

  7. Just b/c others have viewed your posting does NOT mean they have an answer for you but rather are curious what you are asking. So if you don't get a response within a few hours just relax. Hopefully somebody will chime in to help out.

As for your brake pad requirements, forget about the brake bad dust.....that just shows you are using the your brakes and on them hard. Only way around that is to upgrade to the PCCB.

Personally I use the factory pads and am quite happy with them. I get on them hard and they do just fine but they wear very fast if use at the track and as your daily pad. I will probably change to pagid orange or yellow starting in the spring for track days only. I get in about 10-15 track days a year so it might be worth it to have a track pad.

Hopefully others can chime in about experience with your pad choices or other rec's.

  8. FYI.....Discovery just dropped Top Gear from it's lineup. We have quite the heated threads (aimed at Discovery) going on over at Rennlist to encourage that faithful following to protest the channels desite to cancel the show. There are links in the threads that direct you to customer suggestions/complaint forms.

Sad day in programming when they drop one of the great cars shows. And what, they had a better show to replace it? They have like 5or 6 different Discovery channels and they can't possibly have enough content to fill all that programming space. Hopefully they bring it back!

  9. Front pads through the board sponsor here (Sunset Imports) sells at dealer cost plus 15%. $103 for the front pads plus $20 if you want the vibration dampeners. Install can be done yourself in less than 30 minutes. Brakes are very simple on these cars.

What concerns me is that they wanted to charge you $550!!! List price on Genuine Porsche parts is $145 for the set of front pads and the dampeners list at $8 (need four of them). So roughly $175 in parts for fornt pads. By that measure they are charging you 3-5 hours for install (depending on their hourly rate) which is INSANE! I can't imagine the TU's listed in the dealers books as more than 2 hours.
