PS Get whatever 94R battery you want but the Maxx got the highest rating from Consumers Report!

Resetting of the clock is the only thing I had to do. I have a fairly high tech charger, didn't bother hooking it up during the changeout.
-
The PSM light went on at start up and was out at the end of the driveway. You have to reset the clock. That's it. There are lifting straps on both the Moll and the Maxx. Put a foot down inside the the trunk to steady yourself while you lift and lean forward the old battery. Do the reverse on install. The Maxx has a plug for the right side vent. 10 minutes, "piece of cake".

Do not spend $250 for a Porsche battery. Go to Walmart, get the Everstart Maxx 94R. Perfect fit!

Sell that ***** in the UK and don't look back!

You guys are pissing up a rope! Short of PSE, X-51 headers and air box, add-ons do little and may in fact reduce power! Take a look at 5mm spacers and a 24mm rear stab bar if you have a stick transmission.
-
I personally believe the 3.6 is a better engine, smoother and sounds better with PSE. The 06-08 997 are some of the best Porsche has ever built!

Get the H&R 24mm rear bar. Also recommend the 5mm wheel spacers. If you have a standard transmission, that's all you really need for street and occasional track.

i have done extensive research over the last few months and i am very confused about what aftermarket exhaust is the best. i received a full exhaust system from one of the above mentioned companies and the quality was sub-par. after viewing pictures the salesman agreed w/me concerning the quality and accepted back the product i'm now back to square 1. my 997 CS is sitting in my garage w/the stock system removed. has anyone done any type of comparisons or purchases of the headers, cat's, & mufflers from any of these tuning companies? i know enough at this point what to require 1. mandrel bent tubing (no welds on angles as it will interupt the air flow) 2. good customer service (not a company only willing to correspond through e-mail) 3. german made cat's that have a guarantee not to turn on your co2 sensor 4. fitment: products that will fit together w/perfection 5. reasonable price
A). Who has the best HEADERS? WHY?
B). Who has the best Cat's? WHY?
C). Who has the best Mufflers? WHY?
You can't go wrong with Porsche PSE and X-51 headers ( I assume you have a 3.8 with Y exhaust manifold) .

Hi all,
I currently still have a 997C2S Coupe Tip that has just crossed its 4 year of ownership.
The car has been driving great but occasionally I find that there are some intermittent noises whilst driving. I suspect that either the ball joints or bushings could have been worn out after more than 45,000 km of city driving.
Since I am planning to swap this parts out, I like to know if there any upgraded flamblocs (Bushings) or ball joints that would sharpen up the ride and improve its handling?
Are there any easy to install polyurethane bushings available?
Would the bushings from a 997GT3 fit a regular 997C2S?
I look forward to your responses.
Thanks in advance.
B)
Anything other than rubber bushings will ride harsher and eventially make noise.

Doesn't sound right to me. I have an 08 997 iv'ed owned from new and never added any oil! Only drive about 4500mi. per year so I change the oil once a year. I did change it at 1500mi. after a correct break in. Of course, I believe the late 3.6 ( Middle 06 thru 08 ) is one of the best and sweetest engines of the 40 years and 10 Porshes I've owned.

Thanks guys...by swaping out the rear sway bar...is it a noticible difference? By replacing the rear would I need to make any adjustments to the front to balance it out?
The 911 with a rear weight bias oversteers by nature. Porsche has spent many years in taming this tendency. The basic 3.6 C2 with standard transmission and standard shocks will undesteer off the showroom floor. So, without spending a fortune, the easiest fix to more it toward a neutrial attitude is substitution of a larger rear sway bar followed by a good four wheel alignment. This should satisfy the average weekend track guy. I have heard from people who have done only this and dropped 2-3 seconds off their lap times! For what it is worth.

A lot of people think the 3.6 is a sweeter engine. Try to get a late 06 or newer as they added additional webbing around the intermediate shaft.

Hello I recently picked up a used 2007 non S 911. I would like to put in a
different suspension kit. The car does not have PASM. Does anyone know if it's still possible to
install an adjustable kit? I've seen kits that require adjustment through the struts but I like the idea
of changing on the fly from inside the car. It's my daily commuter and the occasional track day. Any insight
would be greatly appreciated,
Mike
All you really nbeed to do is replace the 19mm rear sway bar with a 24mm.

Nothing on my 08. Don't forget that the hood is AL and it don't take much!

The problem is Tool Pants, that for a number of people, this is their first Porsche ( I'm been doing them for close to 40 years, 08 C2 #10). When you put that much money in a car, you want everything to be correct. You hear strange noise, see something, hear something you freak. Relax, most of this is nothing and a one quart overill will not hurt the car! Just my thoughts.

If there is no smoke coming out of the exhaust, don't worry about it!

Take it back and get the level corrected as you don't know how over full it is. Too much oil can damaged the catalytic converters.
Thanks to all for your replies.
Took the car to an independent shop in Pompano Beach, FL. FOREIGN AFFAIRS, the owner's name is Bob Varela.
They removed 1L of oil to bring the level to the correct quantity. They had the car on the lift twice since the only way to remove oil is via the drain plug. It is a trial and error procedure. They did not charge me for the service.
The oil removal had to be done and Varela and his shop were a class act.
Keep you 911's out of the trees!!

How many miles on the car? Just clear it with 2d and push it it in. Sometimes the syncros are a little "balky".

Replacement Battery 997-1
in 997-1 Series (Carrera, Carrera 4, Carrera 2S, Carrera 4S)

My first 911 (1972 ) had two battry's, one in each front wing. The first short wheelbase 911 was even modified with lead weights well forward. These cars have come a long way but are still tail heavy with a fairly high "polar moment of iniertia", meaning the *** end can come around on you given the right set of circumstances!
