  1. Loren - Thanks for all of your help. The dealer ended up replacing all the ignition coils under the CPO warranty. The warranty is up in May so it looks like I may have to start doing some of these things myself :)
  2. I have a 2004 CTT with about 50K miles on it that I purchased as a CPO about 18 months ago. Great car and has been very reliable to date (though I was a bit concerned due to the hit/miss of reliability with the 2003/2004 model years, hence why I elected to go with a CPO) I just finished driving through some pretty bad rain and flooded roads on Sunday for about 40 minutes. I noticed that the passenger front foot well was soaking wet. It was so wet that I could squeegee the water out at first. This has happened only one time before when I was at a car wash this summer. I saw the a post about someone having problems with clogged drains in the back storage area (http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?act=attach&type=post&id=11709) and viewing the drawing it appears that it could be the culprit. My concern is that I believe that the water is coming from beneath the car as I have only noticed it when driving through standing water and with the car wash that also cleaned the undercarriage. Does this make sense or do you believe that it is a clogged or loose connection that is causing the problem.? ALso how do I access the drain/connector that is located in the front passenger side as in the above picture to see if it is the culprit? I would like to solve this as the smell of mildew every time I drive is not that appealing. Thanks in Advance - Steve
  3. Loren - Thanks for the super fast reply. Would you know if it is covered under the CPO warrantee? Hope that you and your family have a great holiday. Also any recommendations on whether to buy genuine Porsche parts or aftermarket in this case? Also any recommendations on places to buy them from in which you (or thers) have had good experiences with?

  5. I bought a 2004 CTT about 18 months with the CPO warranty from the Porsche dealer. It now has about 50K miles on her, been a great car, love the acceleration and solid feel. Been pretty much trouble free until about a month ago when it started running a bit rough and the check engine light came on. The roughness comes and goes but has been more prevelent recently. I ended up buying a Durametric enthusiast kit directly from Durametric (about $300 USD). I checked the codes today and got the following: P0356 P0300 P0305 I cleared out the codes (probably a stupid idea prior to taking it to the dealer) and when I started it back up the engine light did not come back on. I am going to take it to my dealership on Friday as it is still under warranty, though I am concerned that it might not be covered under the CPO program. A couple of quick questions for you smart guys: - Any idea what the problem could be based on the codes and symptoms? - Gut on whether it will be covered under warranty? - I was going to drive her about 225 miles to Baltimore for the holiday weekend. Is there any chance of doing any long term damage to the engine? Thanks in advance and i hope that all of you and your families have a wonderful Thanksgiving - Steve
  6. I also have a 2004 CTT that I purchased under the CPO program last year. I was going to my dealer that I purchased the car (Danbury Porsche) for a 10K mile maintenance ($450-500) who told me that they cannot reflash the DME as it will void the car's warrantee? does this make sense? Also when I told him that the rear lid will not stay in the up condition when it is cold outside, he said that this is not covered under the CPO program. Does anyone know if this is the case? I was under the impression that tere was a Quality Improvement Workshop Campaign to do this (W523) Not sure if I am getting the run around or not, but would like to get some insight from others personal experiences. Regards - Steve
  7. Thanks for the info. Would you (or anyone else) know if your detailed instructions apply to a 04 CTT? Greetings from NYC - Steve
  8. Only your dealer can look those up for you. When I spoke to the dealer, he said that he checked the computer and that nothing was listed so that meant that all the TSB's had been done. Does that sound right? My gut being in the technology business is that it would have listed the TSB's that had been completed to date. Any insight would be appreciated.
  9. I bought a CPO 2004 CTT from a Porsche/Audi/Volkswagen dealer in CT in June 2008. So far the car has been great, a real beast. No problems with the exception of failing rear hatch struts in cold weather but I have only put about 3K miles on it to date as I live in NYC and don't get a chance to really exercise it's inner demons. Even though it was CPO'd by the dealer, I have a sneaking suspicion that all of the factory recommended TSBs have not been performed prior to me taking ownership. Does anyone have access to what TSBs have been performed on a specific car to date? For reference, my VIN is WP1AC29P14LA91662 For your efforts, I will send you Billboard Magazine's top 1000 rock songs of the 70s, 80s and 90s in MP3 format. Thanks in advance - Steve
  10. I purchased a used Certified Pre-Owned 2004 Cayenne Turbo in June 2008. So far it has been running great (gas mileage is a bit rough especially when jumping on it, however I would be a moron to complain about this) I understand that there were a number of recommended TSBS to be perfromed by the dealership on early Cayenne TurboS when they were broght in for servicing. I contacted the dealer that I bought it from, however the mechanic said that there was no record of any TSBs being performed. He said that it could have been done by another dealer but that he does not have access to any national database of what work was done on a specific vehicle. I believe that there is some national databassse that Porsche dealers have access to, otherwise they could end up performing the same TSB on a specific vehicle. A couple of quick questions: 1) Is there a national database that would tell me what TSBs have been performed on my Cayenne Turbo? 2) If so, does anyone have access to the database? My VIN number is WP1AC29P14LA91662 In exchange for your help, I would be wiling to send you in MP3 format Billboard Magazine's Top 1000 Rock songs of the 70,80,90s. 2) What TSBs would you recoomend at a minimum that I have performed (assuming that none have been done yet)? Thanks in Advance - Steve
  11. I recently purchased a 2004 Cayenne Turbo that came with the (I9JA) Non-smoker package. For the life of me I cannot find where there is a cigarette lighter plug in the front seat area which I need to power my phone charger and/or radar detector (prior to getting it hard wired)? Any help with the location(s) would be greatly appreacited. Regards - Steve
  12. I overhead someone mentioning that the heat insulating glass option (14GY) impacts the performance of one's radar detector especailly if the unit is mounted on the visor. I just the had factory upgrade my Valentine Unit with the latest firmware and was going to install it in my new Cayenne as the unit has saved me on many occasions when I had it in my M6. Has anyone had any expireience with degradation of performance as I don't want to find out the hard way on the NJ turnpike? Thanks in advance - Steve
  13. I just bought my first Porsche (2004 Cayenne Turbo) as I have been a BMW man my entire life (last car was a 1988 BMW M6 which was a pretty amazing car for it's time, now a 2008 Honda Accord has more horsepower). My wife and I love the Porshce, it is a sophistecited beast with room for the new baby seat. I got it with 41K miles and CPO status from Danbury Porsche (Weeks Auto Group). As it appears that Porsche's seem to be the ultimate "Chinesse menu" when it comes to options/packages, is there anyway to find out what factory options came with my specific car? Thanks in advance - Steve
  14. I just bought a 2004 Cayenne Turbo this week to replace by 1988 BMW M6 as we have a new addition to the family on the way. I park my car here in NYC in an indoor municipal parking garage. I used a "good enough" car cover for my M6 to keep the dust off it as I will sometimes go a few days without driving (one of the advantages or disadvantages of living in NYC depending how you look at it). Does anyone have any recommencdations for a car cover for less than $150 that fits the Cayenne? I say good enough as my past covers usually last about 18 monhts before someone steals it. It is used only indoors so I don't need anything high tech. Thanks in advance for any advice. Regards - Steve
