  1. Getting your car back once its been stolen may not be everyones idea of good sense , especially if its been abused. Probably better to improve the security to prevent it being stolen in the first place. I added the additional Porsche tilt sensor and battery backed siren to my vehicle that are found on cars in Europe. The rolling code security on the ECU and steering wheel electronics would deter most casual thieves, the tilt sensor protects against the tow away threat and the battery backed siren against the battery being disconnected.

Where does one get the tilt sensor and the battery backup siren? I do think, howerver, my 08 does have the tilt sensor?

    thanks Mark

  2. I’ve just installed the best (IMO) passive/silent alarm and theft system. It’s call GPS Snitch. Their web site is http://gps-snitch.com/marketing/moreAbout.html The actual unit is a small and portable combination of GPS and wireless (cell ph) technology, supported by an intuitive web interface. It protects your belongings through real-time GPS tracking and security-related technology. Based on how you set up the notices, you receive text (SMS) and / or email alerts.

GPS Snitch can tell you where it’s located, from your web browser, in real-time. It can tell you where your loved ones are when a phone call isn’t possible. It can also help teenagers or business. A big plus, it can also help you recover your vehicle in the event that it’s stolen.

    Three key features:

    1. Remote Tracking

GPS Snitch delivers you the tools to track remotely in real-time, through schedule, and even auto-tracking when the security features are triggered while armed. GPS tracking technology enables you to conveniently hide GPS Snitch to ensure stealthy operation. I’ve never seen a product on the market that performs like GPS Snitch for a very low cost.

    2. Motion Sensing technology

GPS Snitch empowers you with the ultimate in security for your vehicles and any other possessions you would like to protect. Motion sensing technology alerts you when someone tampers with your belongings.

    3. Instant Mobile Alerting

Know when someone breaks into your vehicle. Know when your vehicle has been stolen. GPS Snitch alerts you instantly through email and SMS (text message)

I also have Lo-Jack with early warning…. But this GPS Snitch is better. Together, you’ll have the ultimate theft system with recovery. Check out the web site.. much more info… include Google Earth map tracking, etc.

BTW, I hard wired mine and placed the unit in the cubby hole behind the passenger set head rest…. But it could go in many places. I arm, track, turn on/off vis the web link from my iPhone (or any web access device).

    Good luck…. Mark

See my answers to your questions:

Very nice car! Great color combo. THANKS

Do 295's fit on our cars without spacers? YES, i TRIED WITH SPACERS, BUT WAS TOO WIDE. THE WHEELS WERE BUILT WITH LESS OFFSET AND DIDN'T NEED SPACERS

I really like the windstop window sticker, but I don't like the decals on the side panels. Just a personal opinion. Other than that, you have done a great job! AGREED AT FIRST. I DIDN'T THINK I'D LIKE THE DECAL ON THE DOORS, BUT IT LOOKS GREAT IN PERSON. AND THE RED DECAL MATCHES THE TOP PERFECTLY.

What did you do with the stock wheels? SOLD STOCK WHEELS AND TIRES TO ANOTHER PORSHE OWENR THAT HAD 18' STOCK

Zaino is a great product. NOTHING BETTER. IN FACT, I USED THEIR CS (CLEAR SEAL) PRODUCT FOR THE FIRST TIME... ALL I CAN SAY IS WOW.... JUST WIPE ONE AND LET IT DRY TO A PERFECT DEEP SHINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Who did steps 4-6 for you? How does this effect the warranty? I DID ALL 10 STEPS MYSELF... I LOVE DOING THIS STUFF. I'M PRETTY MECHICALLY INCLINED AND IT'S A HOBBY FOR ME. BY LAW, NOTHING CAN EFFECT A WARRANTY UNLESS THE DEALER CAN PROVE THE ADDON CAUSED THE PROBLEM!!

Can you "feel" the extra 20 HP over stock? YES YOU CAN. THE CAR JUST FLAT OUT PULLS HARDER. AND WITH THE MODS, POWER (HP & TORQUE) COME ON EARLIER / SOONER.

  4. Also, if you don't have a CD changer installed, you have to have the Porsche dealer tell the car it has a CD player, i.e., the Dension GW500 emulates the CD. I bought mine from http://www.bumperplugs.com/BPindex.html Eric, the owner, is a wealth of information and will help guide you step by step. I did the install myself, put the GW500 unit behind the radio and the USB/iPod in my glove box. Therefore I avoided the front trunk area all together. One last point... In fine print, the 12v hot wire needs to connect to a non-switched constant hot source.

  5. Well, I've just completed a series of upgrades.

    1. Champion 19" forged wheels, 235/19 front, 295/19 rear, nitrogen filled

    2. Stainless Steel lug bolts

    3. RS60 Spyder Decals

    4. Evo V-Flow air intake

    5. IPD Air Intake plenum

    6. Evo short shifter

    7. PowerChiped

    8. Front strut brace

    9. Clear Bra everywhere

    10. Desion GW500 iPod integration

    and Zainoed to the max

Should be in the around 323hp now. What next?
