I have to drop the front axle final drive of my 2005 Cayenne S to have the unit repaired. After the car is off the lift, does anyone know if it would be safe to just lock the center diff and move it under power from the garage to a parking space a few yards away?

I just finished the M030 ROW install on my 2001 C2, working alone. I followed drpaulmarsh's excellent procedure, but was curious about the need for pry bars and help from a friend or two... until I got to the last step, inserting the new rear strut. I found I had to simulataneously press down on the wheel hub, while lifting up on the strut to get the bottom mount in place. 'Debated how to do this, when I remembered my son's old door jamb chin-up bar - a few twists, and the mount went right in! :clapping:

I have the same car and if I try to decode the codes written in the front hood explore every option and "ROW SPECIAL" ...

The M030 option is a stiffer, sport-oriented suspension option available in two versions, one for the US which does not lower the car's bumper height, and one for the Rest Of the World (ROW) for everyone else. I'm not sure, but I assume the build option label will contain "M030" if you have the sport suspension.

I've bought an M030 ROW kit for my 2001 C2 coupe. Because of the car's age, I'm planning to build up completely new strut assemblies, rather than rebuild the originals with the kit parts. Does a new front stut top bearing (P/N 996-343-515-05, I believe) require lubrication prior to assembly? What sort of lube is recommended? TIA!

Yes, that is correct.

For MY2001 there was a part change mid model year so you have to check the VIN to see which RoW M030 springs are correct for your VIN.

Thanks, Loren! I checked with Suncoast, and they assure me that that there is only one retrofit kit (000 044 500 07) for MY99-01 6spd C2 coupes. I'll keep searching, but for the moment I'll have to assume Suncoast is right...

I bought a ROW M030 kit from Suncoast Motorsports. The rear springs in the kit are p/n "996 333 531 11 504". Per the MY2005 EU "996 Katalog" (only year I could find on the web), the rear spring p/n should be "996 333 531 39 504" for MY2001 only. Is the "11" spring correct for my car, or do I need to go back to Suncoast?

Yeah, it wasn't all that difficult once I got out the big hammer! :rolleyes:

Many thanks! :clapping: I applied white lithium grease to the ball joint, and sprayed silicone liberally inside the housing and rubber bellows - smooth as new!
