  1. Loren, What size did you end up going up front? Did you keep the stock size?
  2. The wheels look like this: http://www.fahrcar.com/porsche-gt2-996-side.jpg They come with factory 265.35.18's in the rear and was wondering what the max size I could go in the rears? I was told 285.35.18's would fit but figured I consult with the experts first! :D Thanks in advance
  3. No! The 997 and 996 side marker lights are not interchangeable Thanks for the reply. Thats what I thought but I wanted to confirm.
  4. Do you know if the 997 Side Markers will fit on the 996? Thanks for your response!
  5. Does anyone know if the 997 Clear Markers will fit on the 996 Models? I dont think they will but was told they can. Can anyone clarify for me. Also does anyone know how to take them off. I just dont want to break anything while trying it. Thanks
  6. You are the man!! But by looking at it, it doesnt show me how to get to it....its blocked by all the softtop mechanisms I cant see the clamps its talking about. Also Ive been told that on these Cabs the Regulators tend to go bad very often so Im assuming thats what Im going to have to replace. Do you have anything on that?
  7. Thanks I finally got it loose and it came off as I needed too. Now its a little bit more complex than I figured it to be. I thought I would be able to see the window and its mechanism that operates it but it seems to be covered by the Soft Top Mechanism! Are you familiar with how to get to that sliding window and its railings so I can take a better look at whats going on??? Thanks
  8. Thanks I believe this should help me out alot...I do have some questions real quick though or clarifications I did everything else as stated but uncertain on these: Pop off plastic cap in side panel (decorative Piece) Remove side panel recognising there are lugs at the rear of the panel that need to be freed (pull forwards) Can you explain if possible Thanks
  9. My girlfriend was driving her 2000 911 Cab today and she was telling me that the rear sliding window got stuck so when I took a look at it, it sounds like its off the railings and just spinning. Do you happen to know what could have caused it or what it could be?? Also Im trying remove the rear panel so I can get a better look at it but I seem to be stuck on getting it off. I have the speaker out with the screw behind that and also the hex seat belt latch off but seems to be stuck on something else that I cant figure out. Does anyone have a PDF format or anything that can help with getting that panel off? Thanks in Advance! Johnny
  10. Thanks for your posts. Correct me if Im wrong....the first number is based on how cold it gets and the second on how hot it gets? Here in California it doesnt ever get in the negatives or even lower than 20F during the winter and during the sumer heats it could get over 100F but around this time getting close to fall and all its floating around 85F but usually lower. So if living somewhere alot colder and not getting as hot 0w40 makes sense. So with that said and done wouldnt 10w30 or 10w40 should be fine??? Can some clarify or explain why I still should use something lower. I just need clarifications. Thanks again.
  11. Im about to do an oil change on a 2000 Porsche 911 (996) and Im hearing different types of viscosity motor oil answers so I just wanted some clarifications on things. I have Mobil 1 Full Synthetic 10w30 and was told that is ok to use for all around weather but Im also told I should use 5w30 instead. Most people Ive talked to said 10w30 and 10w40 is the best to use for California temperature since it can be used all season. Can someone tell me what they would recommend on our cars. Also when you start getting higher in mileage should we be using something higher or less in viscosity? The car has about 40k on it. Thanks, Johnny
  12. Was wondering if anyone can show me a good place to buy a reasonably priced Hard top Wall Mount unit. Ive been looking around and cant seem to find a shop in the US that sells them at a reasonable price. Thanks...
