  1. The cable is behind the left rear tail light. You will likely have to reach behind the left rear wheel well liner to find it or near the tail light from under the car. Hello, I have same problem but the rear trunk is full of cloth packed into, and it wont open even solonoid works. Where can I find the emergency cable for rear lid? Mine is a 2001 986 Boxster. Battery is good! Help me please... thank you very much terry doc :welcome: As I said in the post two above yours... The cable is behind the left rear tail light. You will likely have to reach behind the left rear wheel well liner to find it or near the tail light from under the car. Thank you, Loren... yes, I did followed you... did removed three screws on the bottom lips, the left rear wheel well liner, Still tight fitted, still couldn't get to the access of pull cable. Several months ago I did front end cover removed in order to install wire mesh on both air ducts, it was easy to follow thru. But rear clip/fender well liner... Is there any more screws/bolts that needed to be removed so I can get into liner...? Heat shields are also in the way... Looks like three layers are waiting there for me to struggle with?
