  1. 2005cs--engine noise--dealer to replace under warranty with a remanufactured unit---

    pls advise on the following;;

    1::what is replaced along with engine::waterpump, starter, alternator, coolant etc

    2::what type of warranty should they provide--the vehicle warranty itself will expire in 350 kms

    3:::will this lower the resale value and is there any way to ask porsche for re-imbursement

    thanks you very much

  2. update---took the car into the dealer

    coils cracked--replaced--tech says all noises are ok-------

    service advisor listens and agrees there are noises and tech is wrong-----

    service manager is called---right away hears the sound---orders a bore inspection and advised of possible engine replacement under warranty----

    will keep you posted if it turns out to be something else----

  3. I don't think that they are going to say it's normal, the engine sounds like a concrete mixer driven by an old diesel motor. Hope the best for you next Monday and rapport back please.

    Hey Bro, listening to the video it sounds like U may have some people stuck in ur engine......... may be the 1st problem!! Do u have any coolant leaking? That would be #1 for a water pump I would think. I had similar noise, but I also had coolant all over the place, may be ur water pump starting to go. I had about an inch of lateral movement in mine.....whoops

    Good luck!

    could it be the coils

  4. Per the factory TSB:

    "On vehicles that are still under warranty, the replacement of all bar ignition modules (coils) with Part No. 948.602.104.00 or 948.602.104.01 with bar ignition modules (coils) with Part No. 948.602.104.03 can be claimed under warranty using the following damage code: Damage Code 2820 12 000

    On vehicles that are no longer covered by warranty, we also recommend that you replace all bar ignition modules (coils) with Part No. 948.602.104.00 or 948.602.104.01 following consultation with the customer with bar ignition modules (coils) with Part No. 948.602.104.03 in the event of a complaint.

    The replacement of bar ignition modules (coils) with Part No. 948.602.104.03 that are diagnosed as faulty can be claimed under warranty."

    thanks very much---will they create a problem for me taking the coils out myself

  5. i had asked the dealer to look at this once before but

    the dealer says that there are no faults and no cel so he refused to inspect them......

    i took them out and they end in part nos 002-----and they have hairline cracks---all eight of them-----

    the vehicle is going in for some engine noise issues on monday as warranty is ending in 400kms----

    how do i get them to now replace these coils and will they give me hassle for taking them out myself

    or

    am i out of luck and they will not do anything

  6. i have the following list and additions will be helpful and greatly apprecited

    1::slight hesistation while starting to drive

    2::ticking noise when steering turned all the way to the left

    3:::rear tailgate and glass drop down sometimes----

    4:::wipers shuddering

    5: clunk under floor when accelearting then braking

    6:::coolant dripping under engine

    7:::now and again the pcm does not turn on----or no cd catridge detected----

    what else should i have looked at as a precaution____any air con issues or suspension issues -------and any tranny issues-----------

  7. hi

    i purchased a 2005 cayenne "s" which has 42k miles on it-----unfortunately i dont have any service history------vehicle was corporate lease and headoffice lost the books-------

    what services should be done at this time-----and do the spark plugs get done at 60k--------

    is there any service interval indicator in the vehicle that will show when service is due------
