So I was told by my local dealer that the compressor on my MY03 CTT has failed as I was getting the "air suspension faulty workshop" yellow warning every now and then, as well as the same faulty warning in red but a lot less often (twice so far). It actually started two years ago and I keep ignoring it as it just goes away for a few weeks then comes back. Last month, I got the faulty warning again but in red so I thought it must have failed completely, I went to the dealer to diagnose again, same story, the compressor has failed. Funny things is, the code has not come back yet since the dealer cleared it.!!??

    Question is, should I replace the compressor since Im now starting to get red warnings instead of yellow ones? If I keep ignoring it, would it cause damages to other parts of the suspension?

    The replacement cost at the stealership is 4000AUD. Would the 468USD compressor mentioned in the above post work on my car?

    So does the compressor actually work, can you raise and lower the suspension?

    The fault message 'Air Suspension faulty workshop' can be caused by a low capacity main battery.

    I had the same message a couple of years back. My main battery was 5 years old then and when I replaced it the fail message has not reoccured.

  2. ......when i when to turn the car on it turned on perfect no problem then in second this noise (whislte sound with a bit together of crunchy sound very weird) and it lasted only until the car rpm was on normal i will say for a minute and thats it,the car runs perfect. It only does it when the car is very cold if i say the car is left over 1 day with out turn on,and the sound comes under the car i think.........

    Could be the air compressor running if you have air suspension.

  3. ...... so is that hatch release button useless on the driver door?

    Think of it this way,

    If your in the car and doors are locked whilst driving, the rear hatch can't be opened from an intruder from the outside.

    If you did want someone to open it, you would unlock using the inside hatch release button then the rear hatch can be opened via the external hatch switch.

  4. The rear lid will only unlock when using the internal release switch or when pressing the unlock button on your remote.

    You still have to use the external lid handle to open it in all cases.

    The popping open of the rear window after pressing 2 secs on the remote is normal.

    The owners manual illustrates this.

    Nil door chime and turning signal sounds like a faulty speaker / circuitry. I think it lives in the instrument cluster.

  5. Catch 22 really.

    My 2003 CT is still under extended factory warranty until the end of 2012.

    Although the Redline products claim to be superior to other manufactures oil specs, the fact remains that they are NOT listed on the Porsche Approval List for oils.

    Therefore I won't risk using any oils that don't appear on the list, as I would void my warranty.

    Once out of warranty, I will take another look at the status quo.

  6. I have changed almost all bulbs to white led inside. Looks nice, more updated and not (as I feared) tacky.. However am experiencing odd behavior as well with the center light console becoming in-operational after the ligts turn themselves off if doors remain open too long..The only way I found to get the light back is to close car (like you were going home) and re-open..

    Can it be so that the LEDs disrupts the function somehow?

    Lights will go out after a lengthy period of time with the a door open. This is a normal power saving function.

  7. Ok confirmed compressor is stuffed.

    Local part costs AUD $4,000 (approx US$4,200).

    Can anyone suggest a place in the US that might ship one to me, I imagine even with shipping and tax it would be cheaper.

    They also mentioned I need an updated hose as the pump has been revised, my car is a MY2003.

    The PET has the compressor for the 2003 model (part number 95535890101) priced at $1454 AUD incl GST for the Oz market.

    There is a 95535890104 compressor that is about AUD $3500, but is for cars from 2008. This one probably needs the updated hose as well.

    You may want to check with your dealer again.

    The compressor (part number 95535890101) is USD $468 from www.Porscheoemparts.com

    I have used these guys many times to ship parts to Oz and highly recommend them. :thumbup:

    They use Fedex and are reliable.

    Even with shipping, your still way ahead.

  8. OK my other airbag blew. Initially they said Replace, when I challenged them they told me PAG instructions are to replace both struts with matching part numbers, est $3800. I said no.

    They are now rebuilding the strut using the $368 part but labor is about 500, plus parts and tax this time it will be over $1000

    better than 3800 I suppose

    Was the failure as spectacular / catastrophic as your previous strut, or was this one a fizzer?

    Did the other strut also deflate or were you tilted?

  9. Code 1400 is "control position not adjustable - vehicle too low or too high"

    Code 1772 is "pressure transmitter signal lead"

    These faults point to the level control adjust unit or the solenoid block or associated wiring.

    The compressor is protected with a 40 amp fuse.

    It is located at position 13 in the main fuse box (over vehicle electrical system battery) as quoted from the service manual.

    This fuse feeds hot bus power to the compressor via a relay.

  10. Use Osram/sylvania brand if you want OEM German quality.

    Price difference usually is indicative if the lamp is incandescent (cheaper) or halogen (expensive).

    The standard fit to the Cayenne cornering light is the 64151 incandescent bulb.

    You can use the following:

    The 64151 is normal OEM incandescent type, yellowish light.

    Or you can upgrade to:

    The 64151NBP (night breaker plus) are halogen type with brightest light output of the bunch.

    Or

    The 64151CB (cool blue) variety are halogen and have a colour temp of 4000k to match the colour of the xenon lights if you have them. I use these and am happy with them.

    These are all 12 volt 55 watt rated. The difference in brightness being through design and colour temp.

    The amazon light you listed is a 24 volt lamp and wrong part number.
