Yep, I had the same thing and just took it to my indy mechanic. We found out that both rears are bent, so off they go to get straightened.

I've got a bit of a vibration issue in my 03 boxster s. Its right around 2800-3000rpm, and i feel it most in 3rd gear, however it turns into a kind of pulsing in 6th on the highway. I'm thinking motor mount, but I'm not sure. I just had the wheels and tires roadforce balanced, though it could still be that. But that wouldn't explain feeling it around that RPM all the time.

It does work, you just have to tug on it a bit. I had to wiggle mine for a minute or two and then it finally came out.
