  1. Hi,

All the problems with the car always happen just before the holiday!!

Since 2 days my front right turn light stopped to work! I said "doesn't matter, I will change the bulb (P21W) and all will be ok!!!"........Surprise!!! I open the front light and I discovered that the bulb was ok, I changed the bulb, to be sure, with a new one.....but the turning light is still not working!!!

What can I do? Any Idea?

  2. HI! I Alex from Porsche Israel. What do you need to do. Under the seat you can see yellow connector ( airbag system). But to get it you need disassemble the seat ( that means open four bolts and put on it on the backrest) . After that you must to cut connector (mother and father) and after that to weld them. Remember to isolate good the wires!!! It is important. After this procedure make hard reset and be happy!

    Hi Alex,

I solved the problem, I just secure better the yellow connector under the seats and then with durametric i cleared teh fault.

    thanks a lot

    Pietro

  3. You need to have a proper look under the seat. Sometimes the wiring harness isn't secured correctly and gets damaged when the seat is adjusted. Open each connection and clean with a quality electrical contact cleaner- just follow the instructions on the can and be sure it's safe for plastics. Be sure the ignition key is removed before performing any work.

Hi I'm back, I call de dealer in Milan: Incredible they said I have to pay because there is no service action for my car!!!! I can't believe this!!

  4. Hi to all of Renntech,

I open this topic because I think that someone would help me to solve the problem.

    Car: Cayenne S model 2005

Last week, I got the light of Airbag on. The only thing that I can say that I moved the passenger seat. I connected Durametric cable and I get this message P1218 (passenger side airbag). I tryed to reset but, it is still present, so I think that maybe the connector under the seat. Can anyone give me more information to solve the problem. I red somewere that I have to check this connection.

    Let me know something.

    Best regards

    Pietro

  5. Hi All

Well got the bits for the retro fit of the cruise system. From an 04 workshop guide it looks like you have to take out the signal/indicator stalk and attach the cruse to this switch then reinstall the two switches together. But I have an 05 Cayenne and don't know if there is any difference

Is it possible to take out these switches, without removing the steering wheel????

Just asking as I don't fancy mucking about with this (aribags & sensors etc etc...)

Also does anyone have instructions for the retrofit?

Scratching my head so could do with some help...

    Thanks

    Lee

Can you detail the necessary part numbers to retrofit?

    Thanks

  6. Not sure if it will be worth it, does your car have the fiber optics already in place ?

    Hi,

here I want to begin a new forum to speak about the posibility to install a Bose Amp in a car that doesn't have it.

So I got the Bose Amp, but I don't have the pinout of the amp. Is there anybody that can help me?

Hi, yes it has, because was NOV 04 model. Do you know if the existing car speakers wiring is going in the trunk?

    Bye

  7. The 911/Cayman/ Boxster use a different type of PCM2.1 to the Cayenne , so the update CD's are not interchangeable. The procedure for using a 2005 map DVD in a car originally using a 2004 map is however the same. In this respect you are correct that the PCM needs to be updated from software version 1 to software version 3 (ie existing model level to level B ). In order to effect the update you need one Cd to update to level A , and then two CD's to update to level B followed by a CD that goes in the navigation drive to update the navigation unit. The CD's are not sold separately and come as part of a new map package , and are loaded by the workshop using the PWIS unit (though they can be directly inserted into the PCM if you follow the tech bulletin). I beleive the PCM can be reset by pressing 148 , this may be worth a try before dismantling the whole unit.

    Thanks Berty,

my dealer says that is not possible update the PCM2.1 because they only have the 2008 DVD Map that can upgrade just level A to level C with the 3 cd's in the package.......

  8. Hello all,

I need help for my Cayenne S 2004. I have PCM 2.1 (I think!) with separate NAV DVD. The original map was dated 8/2004, few days ago I put inside the DVD the map 10/2004. The PCM made an updating and all is working. My curent software is SW 1 (Standard Level 04035XXX). Now if I put inside de DVD the map 5/2005 doesn't work because PCM says Incopatible Map. I think I have to upgrade the software to Level A Model (x4202xxx) and then to Level B Model. I think I need a disk that I don't find and my dealer said is not posible to buy. Yesterday I put inside de front cd (PCM unit) one cd and now is blocked inside because it doesn't came out. I'm allready convinced that i've to open the PCM to take off the disk....Pease help to find the dsk I need...thank you very much.

Shut the car off. Lock it and unlock after 5 minutes. Turn on PCM and see if it automatically ejects the CD.

Thanks Larry, no way....the cd doesn't came out...Do you know someting about the PCM upgrade???
