  1. Sorry to resurrect this but i am still having the same problem with my 02 Turbo. I took it into the dealer a few weeks ago (they replaced the purge valve / vent pipe (part # 996 110 129 72)) and I am still having the same issue every time i fill up.

As a summary - every time i fill up my car, I hit a huge dead spot under lower RPM acceleration. It feels like the engine is just not getting fuel for a brief second and then all is well (until i shift gears again and the RPMs drop down) It gets back to normal after 5 mins or so and there are no signs of the problem when the car is idling. It has been doing this for a long time and it happens every time.

    Thanks in advance!

Maybe a sticky fuel injector? I have the exact same thing happen on my 01 TT, but not related to fill ups. This past week I put in my first bottle of Techron Fuel Injector cleaner and it seemed to minimize, but not elimiate the problem. I bought a couple of bottles of RedLine S1 Fuel System Cleaner (I used that stuff in my 97 TT Supra and it worked well), and I plan to use it over the next 9k miles, adding it every 3k miles to the tank, and I hope it helps.

    Good luck.

  2. What is the throttle jacking unit do, and where is it?

    P0103 Possible fault cause

    1. Intake air system on pressure side (between turbocharger and engine) leaks

    2. Short circuit to B+

    3. Mass air flow sensor faulty

    4. Throttle jacking unit faulty

    Diagnosis/Troubleshooting

    1. Check intake air system for leaks.

    2. Check wiring from MAF sensor to DME control module for short to B+.

    3. Check signal from MAF sensor.

    4. Check and clean throttle jacking unit.

    5. Clean air cleaner and replace filter element.

Thanks for that Zippy-the car had several boost leaks but the problem remains unresolved-throttle jacking unit sounds interesting though. Basically all wiring has been checked and we now need to look at the DME to see if there is any corruption.

  3. Understanding these cars requires knowledge of vodoo.

Last night I went out for a test drive after installing a new MAF -- things were looking pretty good, car was pulling strong making between .8 and .9 BAR. So for one of my test runs I pulled off to the side of the road to a complete stop, then took off under full acceleration, got up to about 85MPH then backed off the gas, the second I did that the ABS and PSM warning lights went on, and gave the message to bring in to the dealer, and the warining lights would not go off. Got back home pulled the fuse, and disconnected the battery, lights are off, will go for a test drive when the rain stops.

Any ideas as to what may have caused this? I have the same brand tires on front and back, adjusted to recommended PSI by Porsche.

    Thank you.

  4. Did it as per requirement on this DIY and also the other recommendation from you folks and it make my life a lot easier. I did the four points. Turbos (2), crankcase, tank. But I have to admit I did a mess. I was not ready for the high presssure flow coming out of the tank after removing the plug... Little mess in my driveway... Thanks for your help.

How do you fill the turbos "case" back with the new oil? Or is the oil distributed there once you fill it up from the "main" oil fill resevoir up top?

    Thanks,

    GV

  5. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I just want to disable the wing from going up automatically at 74MPH. I do not want to loose the fan plus I can't open the lid from inside the car if I just pull the fuse. Is there a wire I can cut? I am replacing the unit with a fixed wing and new harness next spring. Perhaps the power wire to the hydraulic pump?

    Thanks

I'm not sure if you can disable the wing but I had similar problems and I replaced the pentosin hydraulic fluid with a higher viscosity fluid LUCAS PSF sealer about 3 years ago and haven't had problems since. The procedure is simple but a little messy

Hi Kirk -- can you describe the procedure for replacing the fluid please.

    Thank you.

  6. Great website instructions -- "saved my life". I just took delivery of a 2001 996T a few days ago, and the regulator needed to be changed, and I was able to do it myself thanks to the great information that was provided --- nothing like getting to know your car by taking it apart 24 hours after you get it!

    Thank you.

    GV :D

Does anyone know the website for the instructions for replacing the window regulator?
