  1. Hi all,

i know this might have been discussed before and have gone through a lot of rooms but still undecided of which one to get. I kept debating between the two. Can anyone provide any insight as tho which would be better and why. I have driven both and find the turbo has the power but it feel short as to handling and sound and the GTS just seems like a sports car with perfect handling and sound. The road is very well felt in the GTS. Before finalizing would appreciate and responses.

  2. Hi,

I have a 2006 997 Carrera, today all of a sudden when I tried to start the car the battery just would not turn on the engine, the lights and all come on but seems the charge is just not enough for the battery to turn the engine.

I managed to jumpstart the car and no issues, my question is if I replace the battery what do I need to worry about?

I have a PCM 3.0 with Navi does it usually require a code after replacement??

I also have a battery maintenor, if that does not work can it be used to help replace battery so everything is not lost? what would be the steps?

    any other concerns.

    thanks.

  4. Hi,

What is the part or name for the small black cover or fin kind of thing attached to the front bumper right in front of the tire and before the splach guard, it is a small piece that seems can come our easily, to protect the side lower bumber, I just noticed I scrached mine as might have touched pavment or side or low ground clearance thing.

What is the name and how can one buy it. I will try an attach a pic

  5. well am almost ready to purchase the dension unit, I have some quick question

since i have the factory cd changer. So if I do not want to make use of the facotry cd changer can i just uninstall the fiber cable from the cdc and plug it in to the dension module. Is that possible.

If not than does the cable coming in to the cdc gets rigged according to the instructions and goes to the dension or the cable going in to the nav gets rigged.

    thanks.

  6. This gets interesting, the temp finally rised to above 35 today inside the garge and I tried running the wipers again, now I get full water force on the normal wipers and than on the headlamp the driver side nozel jumps up and get full force there also but now the passenger side nozle no water is coming out or it does not jump out, wonder if still frozen that side.

also my light for refill water fluid still comes on even though there is water in the reservoir and also washer system working correctly even with only one nozle not spraying, any ideas :)

  7. Hi,

I am getting a washer fluid low indication but when I check the refill area in front it is full. When i try to use the washer the wipers turn on but no water comes out though I can hear the pump.

It has been extremely cold outside and we have been in freezing temps the last few weeks, was wondering if somehow the lower part of the water bottle might be frozen and hence the indicaton even though the reservoir is full, any ideas , suggestions?

    thanks.

  8. also one more question, I was reading the tsb for update and it mentions if display show level b 05024xxx only the navigation module needs to be updated and this can be done using the multimedia cd.

so any idea if that would need to be done? as my dealor is around 80 miles from me and he is only sending the navigation dvd out. so that might not work it seems.

Larry T any idea what version is your navigation software as that can help me see if mine is same and than can just get the dvd from them.

    thanks for all your help.

  9. I have been trying to follow this thread as am trying to update my dvd to 08.2007. I hav and the PCM software version shows 3.3e a 2006 911 and when i checked the dvd version it shows 04.2005 and the PCM software version shows 3.3. If i buy a new navigation disk any idea if it can just be loaded in ot the dvd or i would be in the same boat as applying the software updates?

    thanks.

At 3.3 you should be able to just put in 08.2007 map DVD no problem! It will ask to update, you choose yes!!

    thanks larrytrk

I just checked today as i said ealier the software version shows 3.3 so what does 3.3 signify?

also when I checked my pcm version it showd 0504 which is level B. I tried to read through the tsb also.

so you think all i have to do is just try and put int he dvd navigation disc and that should do the trick? or some update needs to take place from level B to C first?

    trying to understand this better.

06 can only get to 3.3 firmware , level B.

    07 on get C. I think.

New Nav Dvd should work! Insert in Nav. DVD drive and wait and see if it wants to upgrade or just works. Should be no problem.

    My 06 is 3.3 level B

    Larry T

    thanks, sounds great,

any suggestions where to buy the dvd from or just from the dealor
