  1. Thank you so much!

The PS reservoir is in the engine compartment on the drivers side, up close to the firewall. Once you get the convert. top into service position, you can remove the engine covers and you can't miss it. It's a twist cap, and has a dip stick in it. You can top it off from there.

The factory fill is Pentosin CHF11S usually, but that fluid was superceded with CHF-202, whcih can be used to top off an 11S system w/o issue. I have not been able to find it anywhere like Autozone, etc. I got mine at the local dealer, and didn't get overly charged (shockingly). I tried to get it at Napa, but my local one told me they didn't store-stock it, and since it wasn't all that common, i'd have to buy an entire case for them to get it for me. lol :)

Keep in mind it comes in 1 quart metal cans, and under most driving, to "top it off" only takes a little bit. That can will last you a LONG time unless you track the car or have a leak.

  2. Hi Everyone!

I'm trying to figure out what is going on with the wifey's 2003 Boxster 44K miles. It started with white smoke during startup..usually in the morning

and it would last for over a minute then go away. So, took the advice from reading all the post about AOS and went ahead and changed the AOS and Jtube.

Worked great....for 2 months. This morning I started it up and....white smoke.

    Few things I did:

I drained out the oil form the oil filter, because last oil changed I put in 9 quarts...8.7 is what it requires.

Took out the throttle body and cleaned it.

Took out the J tube and noticed little oil....cleaned that as well.

btw... A few days ago when I started it up in the morning... I did hear the air pump whining...like a high pitch whine. Not the normal sound of the air pump.

    Questions:

    1. Can the AOS go bad in such a short period?

    2. Can overfilling the oil to 9 quarts cause the smoke or cause the AOS to go bad?

    3. Whining air pump...can this be a part of the smoke?

    Thanks

I don't know if this will help... http://www.986faq.com/10-0/problems.asp#013 ...mines does that once in awhile...Barriers told me it was normal...here's a guy with an '09 with the same white smoke...http://www.edmunds.com/porsche/boxster/2001/discussion.html

  3. I need help trying to figure out what happen to my '99 Boxster headlamp system. I was using a Panasonic ballast until my left headlamp went out (had these for few years). First thing I checked was the 8000k H7 bulb; not the issue. Next was the ballast; fuse was not blown on ballast wiring, but I decided to replace the ballast anyway. New ballasts are from Tunning Pros (cheaper ballast) with new H7 8000k bulbs. I replaced both Panasonic ballast with Tunning Pros. Nothing worked but the running lights.

I checked the fuse system under the steering column and nothing was blown. I than decided to try to have system with the new HID bulbs. I decided to go back to OEM setting without ballast using just H7 factory bulbs. No luck...only the running lights worked. Any feedback to help with be appreciated!...I could not even get the highbeam to work.

Ok, after checking the new H7 HID Ballast by Tunning Pro it said for Porsche 911. Would this make a difference? I got my OEM lights to work after disconnecting the battery about 3X. Lucky, but now I'm stuck with these Tunning Pro ballast. Anyone recommend Xentec? Also, should the ballast from Tunning Pro be able to work in my vehicle? Thanks...
