  1. I am in the process of installing a GPS/Nav unit and having a ball doing it - though each step is somewhat of a gut wrenching moment. First and foremost, I'd like ot thank all the folks here on this forum. After doing research thru countless threads on this forum, I gathered enough info to start this installation. Unfortunately, I am now at a road block and need some assistance. Thanks to this thread - "Where is the speedometer wire?" (http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=747&hl=) - I have found the backup light wire and *almost* found the speedometer wire required for the GPS/Nav install. My dilemma is that I pulled the relay support rack and popped out the connector in position 23. Sure enough there is a grey/pink wire there as described in the thread above - unfortunately there are 6 identical grey/pink wires routing into this connector. Which grey/pink wire do I tap for the speed signal? Thanks in advance
  2. I am now seriously thinking of attaching, as you suggest, to some other 12 volt source. Thanks for the great idea.
  3. It is a Pioneer Nav unit that is coupled with their P6500 DVD Receiver. I am still figuring out the features of this unit so my best response is that I believe Pioneer doesn't want DVD video presented on the video screen while the car is moving - it will only play with the parking brake on. Thanks for the picture. Is it hard to remove all the interior housing pieces to get that switch? I was looking at that area tonight and I can't quite figure out how to "attack" it.
  4. I am in the process of installing a Nav unit in my 1999 996 C2. Thanks to the great folks on this board, I have found the speed signal wire and the reverse wire required to install the Nav unit. The last missing piece of the pie is the parking brake power wire. Can someone suggest where I can tap this puppy? Thanks in advance
