  1. As far the lug bolts I have to wonder how well they would hold up to being reinstalled after being painted. Wouldn't the lug wrench just mar up the painted surface? I am planning on breaking them all loose this weekend and applying anti sieze. I'll then be sure to get them all to the proper torque. I know all about these wonderful shops and their over powed air ratchets. If I had a nickle for every warped rotor a tire change cost me in my younger days.... I'll also be sure that the tires are properly inflated. Sunday is supposed to be clear out. it's goingto be cold but I'd like to start getting a few things taken care of. Unfortunately the car has a mounted front tag bracket. I'd like to apply a Euro style tag to the front of the car. Anyone have a suggestion on a good source for that sort of thing? I have bought them in the past when I was driving Fiats, but the quality of the tag and the brackets were sorely lacking.
  2. Looks like I should scour my owners manual for the proper jacking points. Thanks for the advice! Any suggestion on a vendor for lug replacements? I'm shocked that a car built this well would come with such shoddy lug bolts.
  3. Thanks for all the responses guys! I really appreciate the info! From the time I have spent scouring various forums it has been a pleasure seeing how welcoming the Porsche crowd can be. I actually mistyped my speaker issue. It is the right side speaker that is not working. I did already check that balance and that is not it. The right side door kicker is working. I am going to pull the grill over the weekend and check to make sure it is plugged in. My fear is exactly what you stated: that it may be the amp. I'm having a blast learing all of the little in's and out's of this car. Today was the first time driving her on dry pavement. All I can say is WOW! I came from a 2006 MINI Cooper S that handles like a dream. That is until I experienced this wonderful piece of machinery. I can see that this is going to be a very lasting relationship. One thing I noticed today is that every single lug bolt is rusted. Is this normal? Are there suitable replacements that fair better that the stock ones? Let's see if I can post a couple of pics that I snapped outside of work today. I can't wait for the weather to break so I can put a fresh coat of wax on her!
  4. I took delivery of a 2003 Boxster a few days ago. This is my first Porsche and she's absolutely beautiful. Hopefully I can get some pics up here. It's been raining non stop in the Baltimore area up until today. The car only came with one key. The problem is the remote head is jacked up. The circuit board and button work fine, but the outer cover is messed up. Is it possible to purchse just the top cover for the remote and if so where? The car has the upgraded sound with the door panel speakers. The left side dash speaker does not work. What woul dbe a good place to start troubleshooting? Thanks for any help!
