  1. Wow.. sorry for your trouble. That was a lot money to install the video interface. I am not sure which PCM system that you have but I've installed the Video Interface in my 2005 Cayenne PCM2.1 and it works fine. You can read my post at the link below with all the instructions.

    http://www.renntech....022#entry152022

By the way, I was able to install the audio via MOST Fiber Optic interface a few months ago. I ordered the part at http://www.xcarlink....82&cat=0&page=1

BE CAREFUL...Xcarlink claimed that you will be able retain your cd changer that's not true. YOU WILL LOSE YOUR CD CHANGER because their MOST interface will install in place of the cd changer. Their instruction for installation, which based on the audi, does not work with Porsche. You can also google the interface from Dension but it's more expansive , still better than the one you got from cartronics. If you need help let me know I will email you more instructions. It's worth it to have that reverse camera because like you I don't want to run over my kids.

    Good luck,

    Ken

  2. Hello guys,

After 1 year, I finally installed the video interface for my 2005 Cayenne PCM 2.1 . Initially , I ordered the Multimedia Interface from XCARLINK in UK for $140 but it didn't work, however the seller is very supportive. They accepted my return and promised that they will send me the update version, so I've waited for almost a year and I finally received it. Although the new version is capatible with my PCM but no video input show on the screen. The seller want me to take picture of my installation so they could figure out what I did wrong. However in the meantime I was searching on ebay and came across a seller who put up an inventory clearance sale for an interface made from Korea under the brand Exonic model EXI-PS05C for $112 so I bought it. But since it's a clearance item, they didn't give me the installation manual. I found another ebayer with the very same item but different brand and asked him to email me an installation guide. I am attaching the installation file for you guys to see. This interface works perfect for my reverse camera and other video inputs but the only problem is there is no audio input. You have to install audio interface or use FM Module. For now I am happy to use it just for reverse camera. If in the future I install the audio interface, I will post for you guys. I am attaching some links below for your info just in case you guys interested.

www.exonicmobile.com - the manufacture website for my interface

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120542528262&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWNX%3AIT - this is the item I bought

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160390107447&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT - this is the similar item I found on ebay

If you guys have any questions on, please PM me. I will help you on how to remove an open the PCM to install the daughter board.

  3. Hello,

I need help with my 2005 Cayenne water leaking. When it's rainning and when my engine is running, there is water leaking out from the roof at the handle of the rear seat on the driver side. We had a lot of rain over the weekend in NY and my car was left outside but nothing happen until I started my engine and I could see water start dripping out from the rear handle. My roof and side panel were soaking wet. I left my car in the rain the whole day (~12 hrs) and came out after work the roof was all dried up and the carpet and seat were still damped. But the rain already stopped by then so when I started my engine, there was no leaking anymore. I am not sure what was the problem. How come water only leaking out when my engine start? Does anyone have the same problem? I read a few posts from the forum, but most of the problems are leaking from the door panel and not the roof. Can some one help me with this problem.

    Thanks,

    Ken

  4. Thanks to Maurice I have 2 spare keys now. Unfortunately the locksmith was not able to clone my key even just for the fuction of starting the car; remote functions already knew not possible unless from dealer. My CTT has keyless entry and start so maybe that's why. But I am happy to have a couple of spare keys just to open door in case of a lockout or something. I am always anxious during auto car wash and expected the doors may lock by itself anytime and me standing there without a solution except breaking the least expensive glass (I had only 1 key). After I learned that when battery needs replacing electrical mishaps often happens added to my occassional night terror. I was about to breakdown and go to the dealer but now I have 2 spare keys and just need the dealer program them to car, may cost less than $100 hopefully and I'll go when I'm ready. I got the 2 key fobs from ebay about $40 each and the keys cut for $10 each. I know some locksmiths can cut these keys, not all, and the one Maurice recommended was very good. I know for a fact that dealers will program your key. They may not cut the key for you unless you buy it from them (I asked a few dealers already), but they will program it if is already cut. Worst case just say the keys stopped working. I remember reading Cayenne can only accept 2 keys, not sure.

    Good Luck with yours

Hello Maurice and Lou. I am also living in NYC. Can you give me the address of the locksmith. I got a blank key from ebay since last year but I have a hard time finding a locksmith to cut the key. I asked the dealers around the area but they all charging me an arm and a leg for it. I just want to have a spare key just in case.

    Thanks

  5. Thanks Odix... you are right. The 2005 without touch screen is PCM 2.1 . I already ordered the multimedia interface.. I'll post after the installation.. Before I unplug my PCM, do you know if I need any anti-theft code when I plug it back in? The reason I asked because I bought the car used and the owner didn't give me any code with the car manual.

    Thanks

    Ken

  6. I am trying to find out which PCM version do I have. I bought a 2005 Cayenne that came with NAV but doesn't have reverse camera. Does anyone have any ideas how to install a reverse camera on the factory PCM. I am thinking to buy a Multimedia Video Interface (from http://www.xcarlink.co.uk/bmy_search.php?b...e&Year=2005 ) that is why I need to know the version of my car PCM. Does anyone have any comments or suggestion?

    Thank you

    Ken

  7. Possibly just loose/bad connection. The owners manual will show you how to very easily remove the entire headlight assembly. The tool to remove it is in the trunk by the subwoofer. Once the assembly is out, it's pretty straightforward. Again, refer to the manual. Simple 10 min task.

    Hello,

I bought a used 2005 Cayenne and have my younger brother brought to Porsche dealer for oil change and checkup thinking it's still under warranty for the following problems:

    - Left corner light indicator

    - Problem start running early in the cold morning but fine after 1 minutes driving

    - Sometime switch to manual while I was driving on auto even I didn't touch the tiptronic button

Anyway, those bastard leeches from Porsche only did the oil change ($500), change 3 light bulbs, and flush the brake fluid (which they tricked my brother to let them do it because it's recommended by manufact. or it will damage the brake. They charged $500 for it). These s.o.b then asked my brother to bring the car back another day because they want to keep it over night so they could run the test for my other complains and they dropped a bomb on us that the car warranty is expired as of 9/2008. It would cause me aleast thousand to fix. The bill for oil change and brake fluid flush and couple bulbs was $1015.83. I called them the next day and gave them earful for overcharged for unnessesary works on my car. I don't mind to pay for oil change but not other stuffss.. I vowed that I would never come back again. To make matter worse now my "turning signal" indicator came on now. My front right turn light bulb went out. I want to replace this myself but not sure how. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP THANKS.......
