  1. I disconnected the horn fuse (25AMP, row B, bank 3) on my 2000 C2 Convertible because my horn activates as I make hard brake or downhill brake.

I know the problem is from the steering wheel (4 spokes) but don't have time to fix it at this time.

Will disconnect the horn fuse affects other components that may share the same fuse?

I drove it about 80 miles/day and night and did not notice any different.

    Your advice is greatly appreciated.

  2. Hi Gristy.

I have the same problem; the mirror cover piece is broken (passenger side). Did you fix your and where did you buy the cover piece?

I looked at the dis-assembly instruction posted by Loren and found that it only shows to remove the mirror, bulbs and whole assembly but not the cover piece.

Do you have any tips about just remove and replace the cover piece?

    Your help is greatly appreciated.

  3. My question may sound stupid; what is CPO?

  4. I forgot to ask you guys one thing regarding replacing the backup light switch on my 2000 C2.

While I was removing the defective backup light switch from the transmission I heard a short bust air leaking sound as of you release the tire pressure but no oil come out. Is it normal?

My friend told me that the transmission air vent cap or fitting may got plugged and it needs to be corrected.

My car has 55K miles and it has new engine/clutch replaced at 48K miles by Porsche dealer in Pasadena, Ca.

Should I continue to drive my car? any tips and advices are greatly appreciated.

    Thanks guys.

  5. Very good design Waterboy :clapping:

However, I like the idea of front to back. This way you only need to use one jack in the center o the bar. Raise the car side way high enough to put two jack stands right below the jack points on the car then repeat other side.

Anyway, you are still an inventor of this "bar jack" and people just took it and modify the design to fit their needs. May be you want to explore the front-to-back idea and patent your design before it is too late.

    Good job!

  6. Congratulation Barry. I too bought a 2000 C2 Cab triple black. It is a beautiful car, a man dream machine. I did not have a chance to check out how fast I can handle on my car since I bought it. But get on ramp and enter freeway is not a problem.

BTW, I have the user manual and my car has the Hi-Fi selection panel like your. If you can not find the manual let me know may be I can scan the pages for you.

Have fun with your PORSCHE :) :)

  7. Hi all Cabriolet Porsche owners.

I have a 2000 Cabriolet and would like to know i it is a good idea to keep the top down (folded) for a long time (few weeks or months).

I live in SoCal and there is not much rain in Spring thru Fall. Will doing this cause damage to the plastic window?

I noticed that if the top was down for a day or so when I close the top I saw some waving (un-flat) spots on the plastic window but they disappear after awhile.

    Your suggestion is greatly appreciated!

  8. I also have a 00 Cab and have not seen this problem (yet). Well, I just have the car for about 3 months and filled up the gas tank about five times. Anyway, I would appreciated if you post the cause and repair cost of your gas tank issue. I don't get your suggestion of getting the AAA if owning a Porsche. This sounds like Porsche is a unreliable car and also sounds like an old expression FORD (found on road dead). Can you give us more specific rational of your suggestion?

    Thanks.

  9. Thank you very much Dphil66. Your instruction and pictures are great :clapping:

I have a 00 Cab C2 and having the same problem; backing lights do not turn on in reverse.

I will work on it when the rain stops (I live in Southern Ca LOL).

I saw your ramps and they look like home made ones because they have low-long profile ramp. Mine are Rino brand and they have short ramp which may not fit close to my car rear wheel. Any suggestion?

    Thanks again!
