Same thing with my 2002 C4 Cab. I've wondered if there was something that could be done about it, but haven't looked into it yet.

I had this same thing happen on my 02 Cab. The dealer said that there wasn't a part to fix the problem so they ordered a new cluster. In my case, it was under warranty so it wasn't too painful.

I finally got it!!! The Euro Sport suspension for my 99 C4 is here and I am going to change it in the next few weeks. I got the Euro M 030 springs, shocks, sway bars (and sway bar bushings), and rear additional springs (the rubber bushing on the top of the shock). According to my dealer those are the only components that are different between the regular and sport suspension. I also ordered new front additional springs, and new dust covers (bellows). Are there any other components that should be replaced? I was looking at some of the spacers (996.333.511.02 rear and 996.343.525.00 front). They come in 3mm or 6.5mm in the front, and 0.5mm and 3.5mm in the back. I am not quite sure if these components affect the ride height or not. Should I replace them as well?

I bought a set of the shorter spacers when I did my M030 upgrade - the originals were the thicker ones. At the least, it buys you back some of the 10mm tolerance that you might lose if you get a long set of springs. In my case, I seemed to gain an extra 1/8 inch of lowering beyond what was expected. For me, that was worth the $28 extra I paid for the parts.

I looked at the springs again tonight, and there is no doubt that the compensation indicator stripe is blue, sky blue, on both sets of springs. I'm not sure what that means. Maybe there is a new indication?
Again, my car is an 02 C4 Cab 6spd
The front springs are:
996.343.533.25 Lilac/Orange with Blue compensation stripe
The rear springs are:
996.333.531.27 Red/Green with Blue compensation stripe
Any ideas?

For (a Carrera) the front are:
1 white line = 3.0 mm thick compensation part
1 green line = 6.5 mm thick compensation part
A = Running gear type code, B = Compensation part code
For the rear:
1 white line= 0.5 mm thick compensation part
1 green line = 4.0 mm thick compensation part
Your front springs running gear type for MY02 C4 Cab with RoW M030 should be:
lilac/orange
No blue unless you have a C4S?

No C4S, just a plain ole C4.
My new front springs are lilic/orange and my rears are red/green. I verified the part numbers are what they should be for all of the components. The compensation stripe looked blue, but maybe it was actually a weird shade of green or maybe I'm just partially color blind or something :)

I'm getting ready to install the ROW M030 on my 2002 C4 Cab and noticed when researching parts that there are compensation plates/shims/spacers that are part of the strut stack. Looking at parts lists, there appear to be two different thicknesses of these plates available with the thinner ones about 3mm less than the thicker ones front and rear. I ordered a set of the thinner ones with the thought of using those to gain an extra 3mm of lowering all around if the thicker one(s) are already installed.
I know that these are designed to be installed based on the spring tolerance which is marked on the spring to obtain the "correct" ride height. I haven't found much information about the various colors that might appear on the springs and which plate or plates are to be used with each. My new springs have a blue stripe to indicate the tolerance batch.
I'm interested in finding out what others have found installed on their cars when disassembling the suspension for upgrades. A single spacer? A thick (6.5mm front, 4mm rear) spacer? No spacer?

Does anybody know the spring rates, front and read, of the X74 package?
I know that the Bilstein sports are the same as the X74 dampers. Is there another spring that could be used with the Bilstein sports to approximate the X74 system, but with not quite as much drop? What about the ROW M030 springs?

I have an 02 C4 Cab with the same issue and it drives me crazy.
Over the years, the dealer adjusted the door latch untold times without any permanantly good results.
I would love to know how to get rid of this.
